Kenneth Allen "Kenny" Johnson (born July 13, 1963 in New Haven , Connecticut ) is an American actor .

Life

Johnson has been an actor since 1990. He mainly starred in US television films and series . He was also seen in smaller roles in bigger films like Second League - The Cleveland Indians are back or Blade . He had his first major role as Butch "Burner" Barnes in the television series Pensacola - Wings made of steel , which he held from 1998 in 27 episodes.

Johnson had his final breakthrough with the FX crime series The Shield . He played Detective Curtis "Lem" Lemansky in the first five seasons of the series . He was then part of the main cast of Saving Grace as Ham Dewey .

From 2009 he was also seen as Kozik in the FX series Sons of Anarchy . He also played a bigger role as Matt Webb in the NBC crime series Prime Suspect .

In addition to his acting career, Johnson 2008 directed the short film I Heard the Mermaids Singing along with actress Victoria Charters the Director ; both also played the main roles. In 2008 they won awards for the short film at the Park City Film Music Festival ( Park City , Utah ) and the Great Lakes Film Festival ( Erie , Pennsylvania ).

Johnson has been married to Cathleen Oveson since late 2005, who sporadically also works as an actress and has also appeared in an episode of The Shield and Saving Grace alongside Johnson. Both are parents of one child.
