Broadcasting and production
- United States
In September 2009 NBC commissioned a US adaptation of the British series Hot Suspicion . Hank Steinberg , creator of the CBS series Without a Trace , was commissioned to produce the script for a two-hour pilot film . Further producers of the series were Erwin Stoff and Paul Buccieri in 2010. Mick Jackson was to act as the director for the pilot. The project was put on hold towards the end of February 2010, however, as no suitable actress was found for the lead role. In July 2010, Universal Television signed a contract with Film 44 to produce the series. In spring 2011 NBC commissioned the production of a script for the pilot film. The main role, played by Oscar winner Helen Mirren in the original British version, was played by Maria Bello in February . In late May 2011, the series received the green light for a first season with 13 episodes. The series, although set in New York , was shot in Los Angeles .
The premiere took place on September 22, 2011 on NBC following the two-hour comedy block consisting of Community , Parks and Recreation , The Office and Alex and Whitney - Sex Without Marriage . Almost 6 million viewers tuned in at the premiere, which resulted in a target group rating of 1.8. For the fifth episode broadcast, the audience rating was only 4 million and a rating of 1.1. Despite this drop in ratings, NBC ordered six more scripts for the series in October 2011, but they were not implemented. In November 2011, NBC announced that it would no longer order further episodes. For the series finale on January 22, 2012, two episodes were broadcast one after the other on Sundays and reached a new low with 4.3 and 3.6 million viewers and a rating of 0.8 and 0.7.
- Germany
ProSiebenSat.1 Media had secured the broadcasting rights for Germany . The broadcast took place from 23 August to 15 November 2013 at the corresponding free TV transmitter cable one .
