The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2009 (KCA) took place on 28 March 2009 at Pauley Pavilion on the campus of University of California in Los Angeles instead. It was the 22nd US award of blimps . These are orange, zeppelin-shaped trophies with the logo of the broadcaster Nickelodeon , which were awarded in 18 categories. In addition, Leonardo DiCaprio received the Big Green Help Award . The ceremony was hosted by wrestler and actor Dwayne Johnson . The preliminary reports from the “orange carpet” called Orange Carpet Pre-Show were hosted by Lily Collins and Jeff Sutphen, disguised as the superhero “Pick Boy”.
Live performances
The Jonas Brothers sang their singles SOS and Burnin 'Up , and the Pussycat Dolls performed the songs Jai Ho and When I Grow Up .
Slime showers
For amusement, some celebrities receive a green slime shower each year, which Nickelodeon sees as the highest honor. In 2009 it was the turn of the actors Hugh Jackman , Sandra Bullock and Jesse McCartney, as well as the Jonas Brothers and presenter Dwayne Johnson . Will Ferrell also slid down a 60-meter slide into a paddling pool filled with slime.

From March 2, 2009, children and young people were able to vote for their candidates via the Nickelodeon website . The Big Green Help Award was not up for voting . Leonardo DiCaprio was awarded this for his contribution to environmental protection, with which he "inspires" children to also get involved in environmental protection. The green Big Green Help Award replaced the silver Wannabe Award , which was given from 2001 to 2008.
