Zoey 101 is an American youth series produced by the television station Nickelodeon during 2004 and 2008 , which consists of four seasons with a total of 65 episodes. The series is about Zoey Brooks, a 13-year-old student who starts off at a new school and has to cope with her life as a teenager there. The German premiere began on October 1, 2005 on Nick . In the meantime, all episodes of the series have been shown in both the USA and Germany. A special episode called Ten Years Later aired on September 18, 2015 .

The series takes place in the same series universe as Drake & Josh , iCarly , Victorious and Sam & Cat , for which Dan Schneider also had the idea, so that there are occasional points of contact between the series.

action

Girls are now admitted to the Pacific Coast Academy (PCA), a school previously reserved for boys only . 13-year-old Zoey, whose younger brother Dustin is attending the Pacific Coast Academy, does not miss the opportunity and is also switching to the PCA. Here she not only has to assert herself against the boys and fight disputes with other girls, but also gets to know her first great love.

season 1

Zoey Brooks and her younger brother Dustin arrive at the Pacific Coast Academy . Shortly thereafter, Zoey Chase meets Matthews, who falls in love with her. Zoey does not find out about this and so the two become good friends over the course of the season. He shows her the school grounds and then takes her to her new room, where she meets her roommates Dana Cruz and Nicole Bristow. But since the two are constantly arguing, Zoey briefly moves in with Quinn Pensky, a very clever scientist . She also meets the humorous Michael Barret and the rich Logan Reese.

season 2

The new school year has started, but Dana is now going to school in Paris . Zoey and Nicole get a new roommate named Lola Martinez, a very talented actress . At first, she pretends to be someone else to show off her acting skills. Zoey and Nicole find out about her and put Lola in there.

Zoey and Chase involuntarily run for election as class representatives , but this has a serious impact on their friendship. Since Logan desperately wants to prevent a girl from being chosen, he bribes the PCA students. However, they both step down shortly afterwards and Mark Del Figgalo wins the election campaign.

When Chase gives Lola tutoring , she falls in love with him. Zoey doesn't seem right about this, but tells Lola that she wouldn't mind if she made a date with him. After Chase forgets all the appointments he made with Zoey, she becomes jealous. Finally, Lola and Chase split up again.

After Zoey, Nicole, Lola, Quinn, Chase, Michael, Logan and Dustin have spent their holidays at Logan's father, Chase Zoey writes a text message in which he confesses his love. But since Zoey had forgotten her cell phone by the fountain and it fell into the water when it started to vibrate, she never found out about it.

season 3

Since Nicole no longer goes to the PCA, Quinn is assigned to Zoey and Lola as new roommates. Chase also has a new girlfriend who is new to the PCA. However, he breaks up with her when she forbids him to see Zoey.

Zoey's parents move to England , leaving her and Dustin with the choice of whether or not to come. Chase learns about it through a rumor at school. When Zoey tries to talk to him about it, he blames her a lot and tells her that he doesn't care if she moves to London . When Zoey leaves, the two are still falling out, which is why Chase doesn't say goodbye to her. Finally, Chase apologizes to Zoey for his behavior via video chat , but forgets to end the conversation. This allows Zoey to overhear Chase admitting to Logan and Michael that he is in love with Zoey.

Season 4

Zoey moves back to the US to find out if Chase is actually in love with her; however, this is already on the way to London. Finally, the two of them have their first date via video chat. Due to technical problems and the fact that Chase has promised his parents that he will attend school in London for at least a semester , the two decide to wait until Chase is back.

Michael and Logan get a new roommate named James Garrett, who gets together with Zoey. After Mark and Quinn split up, Quinn meets Logan, but the two keep it a secret, as they fear that the others will not accept them as a couple.

Since Zoey broke up with James, she's the only one who doesn't want to go to the annual prom. Lola and Quinn try to convince her to go, but to no avail. Since Quinn and Logan are still hiding their relationship, they decide to go to the ball with other partners, who, however, choose their partner for them. Finally, Chase surprises Zoey by returning to the PCA. The two kiss and then go to the ball together. Quinn and Logan finally announce their relationship. Michael has an appointment with Lisa and Lola with Vince.

Zoey 101: Ten Years Later

On September 18, 2015, a five-minute special episode produced by Dan Schneider was broadcast on the American TV station TeenNick . This takes place ten years after a time capsule was buried at the PCA , which contained, among other things, a DVD by Zoey in which she talks about her relationship with Chase. The episode begins in a cafe where Chase proposes marriage to his current girlfriend, Alissa . Shortly before he asks her the question, his former friend Michael storms into the restaurant, says that he dug up the capsule and watched the DVD and reports what Zoey said about him. The episode ends with Chase rushing out of the café and looking for Zoey.

A continuation of the episode has been announced. When this will appear is unclear.

characters

main characters

Jamie Lynn Spears plays Zoey Brooks

Zoey Brooks is the main character of the series, who lives in room 101 with her schoolmate Nicole Bristow. She is known for using her smart mind to solve problems. She is an ace in sports and other subjects. For this reason, she gives tutoring and helps her friends study for tests. Her hair is light blonde in season one, but from season two she has dark blonde hair. Furthermore, she is very popular among her classmates and quickly makes new friends. Chase has been in love with Zoey since day one. That she fell in love with him, too, becomes apparent to Lola and Chase when Zoey's roommate Lola wants to go out with Chase, which Zoey is obviously not happy with. However, she does not want to admit this. When she is moving to a school in England, Chase follows her. While she returns to the PCA early, Chase has to stay in England for a semester. Meanwhile, Zoey has a relationship with James. But when Chase comes back to the PCA, she ends this relationship and finally comes together with him in the penultimate episode, Zoey looking for .

Nicole Bristow is a good friend of Zoey. She is very hysterical , scared and prefers to let Zoey deal with problems. She is afraid that she will be seen with frizzy hair, so she blows her hair every day. She's also a fashion fanatic and can't get guys out of her head. For this reason, her mother sent her to a psychologist who found Nicole to have a "male-fixated obsessive-compulsive disorder". In order to improve her social behavior towards boys, she goes to an all- girls school in the third season . Quinn then becomes Zoey and Lola's new roommate.

Chase Bartholomew Matthews is friends with Logan and Michael and lives with them in a room. He was secretly in love with Zoey for a while, who didn't really notice it. At the beginning of each school year, Chase has an accident when he sees Zoey. In the third season he has a girlfriend for a short time, but with whom he breaks up because she demands of him to end his friendship with Zoey. Since their first day of school at PCA, Zoey and Chase have been best friends and often get into difficult situations that they always master together. The tousled hair is Chase's trademark. He is also terrified that someone will find out his embarrassing middle name Bartholomew. By chance, Zoey learns at the beginning of Season 4 that Chase has always been in love with her. She then travels back to the PCA from England to be with Chase, but he is no longer at the PCA. Eventually they both get together, but the relationship breaks down on the first date when they talk to each other via online webcam. When Zoey refuses to attend the prom, Chase reappears, whereupon she kisses him.

Logan Reese is the son of a wealthy film producer and friends with Chase and Michael. In order to describe his character, the words should be warped, self-indulgent, arrogant , vain pretty apt. When Zoey wants to improve her grade in chemistry, her chemistry teacher assigns her to Logan as a tutor. This tells us that the otherwise mediocre student Logan (due to his summer vacation with his grandfather, a chemist ) has a great talent for chemistry. At the end of the fourth season he meets Quinn (first secretly and then officially).

Victoria Justice plays Lola Martinez

Lola Martinez has been Nicole and Zoey's new roommate since the second season. Her greatest hobby is acting, which Zoey and Nicole quickly notice, because Lola tricked them with a stage-ready goth act. In addition, she is often very upset and often shows feelings through her emotional nature. She is famous for her special and a little crazy outfits. She has her first boyfriend from the third season in the episode "The Curse of the PCA - Part 2". She falls in love with her tour guide, who wanted to show them the grave of a missing PCA student. From season four, she's dating Vince Blake.

Quinn Pensky is friends with Zoey, Nicole, Dana and Lola and likes to develop crazy objects or experiments, which she then calls Quinn inventions. She tells her friends almost fanatically about her latest experiments and inventions and always tries to convince others to try them out. She also keeps unusual pets ( tarantula , alpaca , snake and, for a short time, a rat). When she calls someone weird, she remembers an uncomfortable scene from her early childhood and goes nuts. Quinn is dating Mark Del Figgalo. At the beginning of the fourth season, however, is the end between the two. When Logan comforts Quinn, they kiss, but are embarrassed and refuse to admit that they have fallen in love. They're hiding it and that's why they don't go to prom together. At the end of the last episode, Logan finally announced publicly that the two are a couple.

Dustin Brooks is the little brother of Zoey, who was at the Pacific Coast Academy before her and is often annoyed that she always mothered him. He's still very childish. Nevertheless, he is well received by Zoey's friends and is up for almost any fun. He is also afraid of harmless animals such as frogs and squirrels. Quinn pays him to try her experiments.

Michael Barret is friends with Chase and Logan, although he often argues with Logan. He's a comedian and often gives Chase advice on how to behave towards Zoey. In the episode "Girls Become Boys" he helps the girls to make his roommates Logan and Chase a monkey, just as he in the episode "The Spy" helps the girls and Chase make fun of Logan. At the beginning of the third season he falls in love with Lisa, a classmate, but embarrassing mishaps happen to him when he talks to her. Chase nearly ran over Lisa with a kart, but Michael saved her. They have been together ever since.

James Garrett first appears in the fourth season. He's the new roommate of Logan and Michael after Chase is in London for a semester. He's a crush, and Zoey, Lola and Quinn think he's great too. Michael and Logan don't like him at first, but Michael later changes his mind about him. Logan, on the other hand, doesn't think much of James because Logan is no longer the school's crush. Zoey and James kiss at the end of "The Rumor" and then have a relationship, but Zoey ends it again when Chase returns to the PCA.

Dana Cruz was Zoey and Nicole's roommate in the first season. Usually she looks cold-hearted and unapproachable from the outside, but she still helps Zoey and the others out of difficulties and thus sometimes shows heart. After the first year of school, she takes part in the student exchange and goes to Paris .

Minor characters

classmate

Mark Del Figgalo is Quinn's boyfriend at times. He's very cowardly and always shows the same bored expression on his face. Later it turns out that he has no feelings at all. He likes salami and fried potatoes, but is lactose intolerant . He also took part in Dustin's Spanish course. "Del Figgalo" means "From the figs".

Stacey Dillsen is a lisping classmate. She collects cotton swabs and uses them to create works of art that are always destroyed. Chase even does this three times in a row. If you want to ask her something, she always squeals in shock. After Zoey went to England for a short time at the beginning of the fourth season, she moved in with Lola and Quinn. She goes to prom with Logan, but after kissing him, Logan casts her off. Stacey is disappointed and runs in front of Michael's car. In doing so, she loses her speech impediment.

Lisa Perkins is a girl and friends with Zoey. Michael is in love with Lisa and wants to impress her, but he's too shy. Once Michael puked on Lisa's shoes. In the last episode, Michael and Lisa are a couple.

Sarah arrives at the PCA as a new student in the middle of the third season because her father has taken a new job near the PCA. Quinn is immediately familiar to her. When she looks at the film footage from her childhood, it is immediately clear to her how she knows Quinn: They both entered a beauty contest when they were 5 years old, where they first met. Quinn is extremely embarrassed about her ribbon dance. That's why she always tries to hide from Sarah.

Keith Finch is in Dustin's geometry class . He forced him to do his homework and later do his laundry as well. However, he is warned by the caretaker, who pretends to be the "rector of punishment". Keith is mostly with a gang of three friends who give him support and keep laughing at his stupid jokes.

One of the apartment buildings

Nil, Andrew, Wayne are three boys living in the same room. They are members of the physics club and are trying to prevent Quinn from becoming a member. Nil is the leader of the three. Wayne is Asian, always wants to be called FireWire, and likes comics. At the beginning of the second season, Chase made a mistake in the house and accidentally burst into her room because he mistook it for his own.

Maria is a girl with whom Mark often meets in the episode "Quarantine". Quinn worries about her relationship with Mark because he tells her he'll teach Maria to knit. In reality, she is supposed to paint a picture of him to be given as a present for Quinn.

Jack appears as Dustin's best friend in several episodes. In the episode about Halloween, Jack suddenly disappeared. Everyone thinks Logan made him disappear. In the end Logan gets scared himself and runs out screaming. In truth, they are all in a small coffin. They were going to joke Logan.

Melissa the spitting girl likes Chase. Your zodiac sign is Sagittarius. In the episode "Die Wahl" she accepts the chase dollars and the free smoothies from Logan.

Vince Blake is a crush at the PCA and a very good football player on the football team. Chase saw Vince photograph the history test and told the teacher so. For this, Chase was later beaten up by the football team along with Michael, Logan and Mark. In the episode Vince Blake is back , he apologizes to Michael and Logan and in the same episode he meets Lola.

Greg is a student at the PCA. He helps Lisa clean her shoes and is with her for a short time. As Chase rushes towards them, Greg runs away. He later comes back and sees Lisa kissing Michael.

Danny appears for the first time in the episode "Quarantine". After a scream from Lola, he comes to her aid with a hockey stick. When he realizes that this scream was only a rehearsal for a piece by Lola, he notices Zoey and he makes an appointment with her. But this meeting cannot take place because of Quinn's bacterium. So Zoey sends her little brother Dustin to turn him down, but he catches another Danny "Dannyfer". In the end, Danny finds out about the accident and goes for a coffee with Zoey.

Leif is a student at PCA and accompanies Zoey, Lola, Quinn, Chase, Michael, and Logan in Red Stone Gulch. As he chases the birds in flight, Lola follows him. She thinks Leif is great.

Courtney was a friend of Mark. As she watches Quinn and Mark get closer, she is disappointed in Mark. Courtney then beats him with salami and breaks up.

Employees and teachers

Principal Charles W. Rivers , the principal of the PCA, often plays at a small pool table that his son-in-law gave him. He also hates clowns and likes lions.

Principal Taylor is Principal Rivers' representative. After Rivers was hit by Dustin's remote-controlled plane, he had to stand in for him. The girls think he's great. He's with Coco, but when Carl throws him aside, he's no longer with Coco. His head was injured.

Coach Keller , the school's super strict physical education teacher, always calls sushi “Sashi”. When students want to correct him, he gets loud. Especially in the episode “People Auction” when the Sushi Rox burns down. He blames Chase for that. Then Chase replies: “How about an anger management course!” And swears sweet revenge and he wants to “wrestle” Zoey in the wrestling team.

Of all the teachers, Mr. David H. Bender , the cool tech teacher for the students, appears in the episodes the most. The former PCA student was a cheerleader in his day as there weren't any girls at the PCA then. He also often puts on very dumb "clothes" and is therefore confused with a sucker by Zoey and Nicole on an episode on Halloween.

Coco Wexler is the caretaker of the girls' house, coincidentally always where Zoey and her friends live. She's a huge fan of Jay Leno and canned ravioli. There are often allusions to her big chest in the series. In the episode “Surprise!” It is found out that she has a cup size 85 D because she mistook the number for Quinn's room number while ordering a new bra from a mail order company. For this reason, Quinn had to move in with Zoey and Lola at short notice, who were not very enthusiastic about it. In the fourth season she is dismissed by the principal for having him bring a lion into the office. Then she has to work in the girls' bathroom in a luxury restaurant. But Coco comes back to the PCA because the rector had to resign her successor because of theft.

Mira was the girl supervisor while Coco was fired. She helps students with their problems, which is why many liked her. Headmaster Rivers had to fire her for stealing things from the girls. For that, Coco came back.

Seamus Finnigan was once on a golf team with Headmaster Rivers, but now he's enemies with Headmaster Rivers. He destroyed the cup case because the cup was his. But later they are friends.

Kazu , a Japanese who opened the “Sushi Rox” on campus. He sells sushi and is a good friend of Zoey and her friends. When the Sushi Rox burns down one evening, the students think about what they can do so that the Sushi Rox can reopen. They then run a people auction with which they manage to raise enough money to reopen. Of course, Kazu was surprised. Kazu is from Birmingham Alabama.

Jeremiah Trottman is a minor and has been reporting important events on the PCA News. He takes his job very seriously.

Ms. Bervich works in the PCA administration and assigns rooms to the students. Zoey and Nicole were concerned about their new roommate (Lola). For this reason they wanted to ingratiate themselves with her to find another roommate. Nicole knocked over the rare perfumes Ms. Berwich had collected during a visit, so Ms. Berwich did not want to change the room occupancy. She reappears in the episode "Coco is Fired" when Michael and Logan try not to get a new roommate.

Janitor Herb , the PCA's caretaker for season one, was a good actor. He had posed as the "principal of punishment" to berate Keeth for annoying Dustin. After the first season he disappeared, but appeared once in the second season in the episode “People Auction”.

Scout leader Kelly Billiam teaches geography in the 7th and 8th grades and appears for the first time in the episode “Poor rich Logan”. On weekends he acts as the scout leader Kelly. In the episode "Poor Rich Logan" he ties Michael to a bank at his request so that he cannot get out of it.

Takato-san is a figure in Michael's mind who taught him to drive a car with gears. He first appeared in the episode "Zoey on the search".

Other

Carl , Coco's strong friend, breaks up with her on the phone every time his softball team loses. On Valentine's Day, he should have given Coco a pretzel from the gas station. After Coco's whining, he's never there at Christmas. Carl doesn't even know how to order pizza.

Chase and Michael found Elvis the dog on the beach. Since then, he has been kept hidden because pets are prohibited at the PCA. If one of the caretakers discovered the dog, he would come to the shelter.

Drake Bell appears in the episode "The Star Party". He was asked to play at the spring party. Since there was not enough money for Drake Bell, Zoey gave his manager a new design for Drake Bell T-shirts.

Mr. and Mrs. Brooks are Zoey's parents and appear together only in the episode "Goodbye, Zoey". Zoey's father also appears in the first episode when he brings Zoey and Dustin to the PCA.

Mr. Berman is the school board member who visits the principal once a year and annoys him. Because the principal hates clowns, Mr. Berman disguises himself as such. He wants to give the girls $ 4,000 for the spring party. But they in turn damaged the car and therefore notified a car mechanic. That left only $ 1500 and a free bus ride.

Chuck Javers appears in the episode "Wrestling". He is a very brutal wrestler who can take on any opponent. In the same episode he had to face Zoey in the wrestling finals. But the fight only lasted between 3 and 4 seconds, because Javers picked Zoey up and let him fall head first onto the mat.

Malcolm Reese is Logan's father and a famous film producer. He only appears in the episodes "Spring Pain" and "Poor, Rich Logan". His name is mentioned in the episode "People Auction" when Logan asks his permission over the phone if he can borrow $ 4,000 from him. His name is a reference to the two brothers "Malcolm" and "Reese" from the comedy series Malcolm in the Middle .

Spring pain

Zoey, Nicole, Chase, Lola, Quinn, Dustin, and Michael are invited to Logan's home for the vacation. His father Malcom, who is a film producer, wants to test his new game show Gender Defender with the teenagers . It is a competition between girls and boys. The winners of the test show are allowed to play a role in the first episode. As a welcome gift, everyone receives a Tekmate , a multifunctional device that can be used to send text messages, among other things . Chase and Michael test this possibility together, with Michael writing to his friend to tell Zoey that he is in love with her. Chase replies that he doesn't want to, but inadvertently sends the text message to Zoey. At the next competition, he wants to take her Tekmate away from her to delete his message. However, Chase's act is ultimately revealed. Zoey doesn't understand the reason her boyfriend is acting and is upset. In the last game where the players have to test their strengths, Chase lets Zoey win. The girls ultimately win the game. A little later everyone learns that the test show is already the first real episode, so that the boys also play a role in it. Back at the PCA, some people watch the show while Chase sends Zoey a text message telling him how he feels about them. Zoey had left her Tekmate by the fountain. When receiving the message, the Takemate begins to vibrate, so that it falls into the water and Zoey does not hear about the message.

The curse of the PCA

Legend has it that the former PCA student Charles L. Galloway fled to the desert town of Redstone Gulch because of the strict teacher Mr. Hodes and never returned. Zoey and her friends decide to make an expedition to the place. There they find a chain from him. A short time later a green cloud appears. As a result, everyone makes their way to the PCA, with Zoey injuring his ankle. Meanwhile, the cloud moves to the PCA because Logan had taken the chain he had found. After the friends have brought them back, the spook ends. However, Mr. Hodes later says that the legend is a lie and that ghosts do not exist. Then the cloud comes back to the PCA and punishes Mr. Hodes by making him go round in circles until he cancels the business test and ends the lesson. At the end of the episode, the friends go to Sushi Rox while Charles laughs and the cloud appears again.

Goodbye Zoey

Zoey's parents tell their daughter and Dustin that they are moving to England because of their father's job. Both could decide whether to come with you. Dustin immediately decides against it, while his sister still needs time to think it over. Zoey values Chase's opinion and wants to talk to him before she makes a decision. However, Chase hears of a rumor that Zoey has already decided to move to London without informing him. Chase tells Zoey to go to London. When they say goodbye, he does not appear. After she leaves, Chase befriends Gretchen, a girl who looks like Zoey. Ultimately, he admits that he only did this because he misses Zoey. At the end of the episode he talks to Michael and Logan about his feelings for Zoey, which they can see on a webcam .

Zoey on the lookout

The episode is about the school ball and has multiple storylines.

Zoey has returned from London and is with James, who confesses his love to her. However, Zoey still has feelings for Chase and ends her relationship with James. A short time later, Chase, who is now a student at Zoey's former school, joins the PCA. He and Zoey kiss. At the school ball, they both tell their friends about their relationship. Then Zoey invites Chase to spend the summer with her. He accepts the invitation. Quinn and Logan, who are also a couple, decide to go to the school ball with other students so that no one finds out about their relationship. Quinn goes to the ball with Dustin and Logan with Stacey, where they finally reveal their relationship to the others.

Michael gets a Camaro from his father , with which he wants to drive his girlfriend Lisa to the ball. However, it cannot drive with manual transmission. An Asian man who claims to be a math teacher helps him with his problem. At the school ball, Mark drives up Michael's car to Stacey, who then loses her lisp. Michael also learns that nobody knows the Asian teacher. A little later he tells him that it doesn't even exist. Lola is supposed to organize the school ball. She wants to be a little late, which she does because the taxi driver who was supposed to drive her and her boyfriend Vince to the ball gets out of his vehicle and throws the ignition key into the woods. Now they have to walk and arrive just before the end of the ball. At the end you see Zoey and Chase, Logan and Quinn, Lola and Vince, Michael and Lisa, and Mark and Stacey dancing.
