Thomas Francis Wilson Jr. (born April 15, 1959 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor , comedian and voice actor . He is best known for the role of Biff Tannen , the main antagonist in the film series Back to the Future .

Life

Thomas Francis Wilson Junior grew up in Wayne , Pennsylvania, where he attended Radnor High School . Already during his school days he acted, was among other things with the later journalist of the New York Times David Brooks in the debating team and played tuba. He later studied political science at Arizona State University . He then went on to work as a stand-up comedian to help fund his acting studies at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts .

Wilson began his acting career in the early 1980s. He had his first two engagements in 1984 with guest appearances in the two television series The Facts of Life and Knight Rider . Wilson had his biggest success to date with his first film engagement as Biff Tannen for the trilogy Back to the Future . He played the villain in several epochs and relatives of Biff Tannen in the cult films. To date, he has not appeared in any other successful film. He also made appearances in such films as Action Jackson , A Pain Relief, and The Informant! and was seen in series such as Voll besides, full in life , Do Over - Back to the 80s and Ghost Whisperer - Voices from the afterlife . In addition to some video games, he also dubbed television series. He could be heard as Matt Bluestone in the cartoon series Gargoyles - On the Wings of Justice .

He has been married to Caroline Thomas since 1985. With her he has four children, three daughters and a son.
