action

Andrea Marr just finished high school and was accepted into an elite university. She decides to gather as much life experience as possible during the vacation before studying. Marr finds Todd Sparrow, the singer in a music group from the same town, attractive. She and her friends go to a distant city where the band is performing. Even though they stand in the rain for hours, they will not be allowed into the concert.

Marr later becomes the band's groupie and friend of Sparrow. The other girls envy her. After a while, the relationship with Sparrow falls apart.

On one of Marr's last evenings in her hometown, Andrea's friend comes out as a lesbian . The girls kiss. Marr's voiceover says she is sure she is not a lesbian, just as her friend is certainly a lesbian. On the same evening Andrea receives an unexpected visit from Todd, who wants to talk to her - like a friend.

The film ends with Marr driving a car to the city where she is supposed to study.

Reviews

“A look at the problems, worries and attempts at self-discovery of young people enriched with a lot of rousing music from the authentic grunge and punk scene of Portland. The film observes the teenage life of the so-called pre-Dot.com generation of the late 90s in an amusing and atmospheric way. "

Awards

Jonathan Kahn won a Special Jury Award at the Florida Film Festival in 1999 .
