Dominique Ariane Swain (born August 12, 1980 in Malibu , California ) is an American actress .

Career

Swain started out as a stunt girl for the film The Second Face of Joseph Ruben in 1993 . In 1997 she was cast by John Woo for the action film In the Body of the Enemy . After that, she became best known for her portrayal of the youthful, seductive Lolita in the remake of the novel by Vladimir Nabokov of the same name . In youth drama Tart - Jet Set Kids by Christina Wayne she played in 2001 the main role of a schoolgirl in a jet set - clique . Her work includes around 80 film and television productions.

Swain was in 2001 for "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" ( I'd rather go naked than wear fur ) the organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) photograph.

In 2002, Swain was ranked 79th in Stuff Magazine's “102 Sexiest Women in the World”.

Her sister Chelse Swain is also an actress.
