Joseph Ruben
Joseph Ruben (born May 10, 1950 in Briarcliff Manor , New York ) is an American film director and screenwriter .
Before he started directing, he studied film and theater at the University of Michigan . He graduated from Brandeis University .
He made his debut as a director, screenwriter and film producer in 1974 with the film The Sister-in-Law . Two years later he directed the youth film Do not turn me on! , for which he also wrote the script. Initially focused only on comedies, he shot Dreamscape - Höllische Träume, his first horror film , in 1984 , followed by thrillers in particular .
