Fred: The Show is an American youth - sitcom , which for the first time on 16 January to 3 August 2012 at the US channel Nickelodeon aired and includes 24 episodes. The creator and main character is Lucas Cruikshank , whoalready playedthe role of Fred in his web series. The series is based on the films Fred: The Movie and Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred , in which the same actors had starred. The series was discontinued after a season, Cruikshank took on the lead role in the series Marvin Marvin in November 2012.

The German-language first broadcast began on November 12, 2012 at Nickelodeon Switzerland . The series can be seen on Nickelodeon Germany since January 14, 2013.

The series revolves around the daily life of 16 year old Fred Figglehorn. In every episode he puts himself in a difficult position due to an accident, which he then has to pay for. His archenemy Kevin, his crazy mother and his best friend Bertha are often involved. Fred is characterized by his extremely high voice.

Bertha is Fred's neighbor and friend. She often wears crazy clothes.

Mrs. Figglehorn is Fred's mother. She's drunk and rude, but she often takes loving care of Fred.

criticism

Like the film Fred: The Show , the series was harshly criticized. Common Sense Media gave the series one of five possible stars and concluded that Fred: The Show offers “more of the same absurdity of the obnoxious YouTube star” (English “More of the same absurdity from obnoxious YouTube star”). Despite the negative reviews, the series reached 3.7 million viewers when it premiered. The odds fell with the second episode to more than 2.4 million.
