Wendell & Vinnie is an American sitcom that first aired in the United States on February 16, 2013 on Nickelodeon . The main roles are played by Jerry Trainor from iCarly and Buddy Handleson from Shake It Up - Dancing is Everything .

action

30-year-old Vinnie Bassett takes over the tutelage of his 12-year-old nephew Wendell after his parents die. After an accident, Wendell has to go to the hospital, whereupon Vinnie's sister Wilma, who wants to have custody of Wendell for herself, reports him to the youth welfare office. During an inspection it is decided that Wendell can stay with his uncle. Wendell is very unpopular with his classmates because of his special hobbies, but Vinnie tries to change that.

Vincent Jay "Vinnie" Bassett
is 30 years old, but the real child of the two. He likes to play video games and has to go to the hospital every now and then when he does things like swallowed coins. After Wendell's parents died, he was given custody of his nephew at their request. He realizes that they have chosen him as custodian to give him a chance, because Wendell would become something, no matter who he lives with.
Wendell Bassett
is an intelligent 12 year old boy who lives with his uncle Vinnie after his parents have died. For his age, he has quite unusual hobbies such as scrapbooking and is more happy about a new pair of underpants than a toy. Wendell is initially unpopular with his classmates, which Vinnie tries to change.
Wilma Bassett
is Vinnie's older sister. She is a lawyer and makes no secret of the fact that she would rather have custody of Wendell, since she considers her brother to be irresponsible, and even reports him to the youth welfare office.
Taryn
is Vinnie's new neighbor. She moved to the apartment across the street after her divorce from Houston , Texas. She's a good friend of Vinnie's and helps him with the youth welfare inspection after Vinnie went out with her and turned her down.
Lacy
is Wendell's best friend, whom he met while in detention. She threatens him first, but then shows that she is not really mean. She just wanted to appear strong in detention in front of the other students.

On August 2, 2012, Nick at Nite ordered a 20 episode first season of the series, but it was aired on February 16, 2013 on Nickelodeon. The first episode had 2.34 million viewers, making it the most-watched cable production of the day. After the series was taken off the schedule in June 2013 after 14 broadcast episodes, it was decided in mid-August 2013 to discontinue the series. The remaining six episodes aired from August 18 through September 22, 2013.

He decides, however, to save Wendell from detention for fear that he will be harassed by his classmates, but Wendell managed to gain the respect of the other participants with the help of Lacy, a detention girl.

Wendell's best friend Lacy therefore calls him a cheat, whereupon he tries to honestly sell the chocolate bars. But since he does not succeed, he says that he is an orphan and can sell five boxes. Ultimately, Wendell wins the promotion because he was able to sell the most candy bars. However, he gives the bike to Lacy because he thinks she deserves it.
