Matthew Dillon Underwood (born April 23, 1990 in Fort Pierce , Florida ) is an American actor .

Life

Underwood won a beauty pageant at just six months old . He later won other talent competitions in the area around his hometown of Fort Pierce. As a result, 2-year-old Underwood was already a runway model for children's clothing and was in front of the camera for various advertisements. He was also a member of the dance group The Show Biz Kiz Dance Group . By the age of five, Underwood had already made up his mind that he would work in the entertainment industry for the rest of his life. He appeared in local theatrical productions, entered other talent competitions, and won a few too. He was also seen in a performance by The Wizard of Oz at the Traveling Missoula Theater . Underwood has also appeared in a number of television commercials, including one for Reese's Puffs cereal with Chris Warren Jr.

In addition to his acting talent, there was also a certain scholastic talent, such as Underwood attended the renowned Lincoln Park Academy .

Underwood is best known for his role as Logan Reese in the series Zoey 101 , but he has also worked in various other film and television productions. He was originally scheduled for the role of Troy Bolton in the musical film High School Musical , but had to drop out of the project due to his contract with Nickelodeon .

Together with the rest of the ensemble of Zoey 101 , Underwood won a Young Artist Award in the category Best Young Ensemble Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) in 2006 and 2007 .

Underwood has three older siblings, two brothers and a sister.
