action

Elle Evans and Lee Flynn were both born at the same time, day, in the same hospital and have been best friends ever since. In order for their friendship to continue to work, they agree on rules, including that one must not date the other's relatives. On the first day of school, Elle comes to school in a very short skirt because her trousers are in the laundry, and the student touches dolls on the backside. When Lee's older brother Noah sees this, he starts a fight with Tuppen. Even so, Elle wants to go out with Tuppen, but learns that Noah has forbidden the other boys to date Elle .

For the school carnival, Elle and Lee want to make a kissing booth (in the original Kissing Booth ), but have problems finding volunteers for it. Only with the lie that Noah is also participating does Elle manage to convince three girls of the popular OMGs (O = Olivia, M = Mia, G = Gwyneth). When they find out, however, they ask Elle to kiss a nerd as a punishment. It turns out, however, that Noah stands at the booth instead and Elle kisses him, which Lee is not enthusiastic about. It starts raining on Elle's way home and Noah offers to ride on his motorcycle. However, as the rain is getting stronger, they look for shelter. They kiss again, but Elle isn't sure because she doesn't want to be just one of Noah's many girls. Noah says no and they kiss again, until they are interrupted by a security guard who tells Noah not to bring any more girls there. Elle then goes home alone, injured.

After a beach party at which Elle is turned on by another boy who tries to force her to come with him, whereupon Noah beats him, Elle and Noah initially have an argument. However, when Noah notices that Elle is apparently afraid of him, he calms down and drives her to the Hollywood Sign. There they admit to themselves that they have feelings for the other and sleep together. However, Elle demands that Lee be unaware of their relationship.

Both begin to meet secretly and Noah receives a promise to study at Harvard University. However, Lee catches them kissing and gets angry. From this point on, Lee begins to ignore Elle until they reconcile in the arcade, which Elle and Lee used to visit together. Noah tells Elle that he loves her at the prom in front of all the students, but she explains that the two cannot be together because it hurts everyone around them, especially Lee.

At the joint birthday party of Elle and Lee, Elle suddenly runs away crying and when Lee runs after her, she explains to him that she loves Noah and Lee cannot determine who she is allowed to love. Elle then goes in search of Noah, who seems to have already left for Harvard. He is in the car with her through one of Lee's tricks, however, and Elle confesses her love for him. Lee accepts the relationship between the two and Elle and Noah spend every remaining day together until Noah leaves for college.
