Karan Brar (2011)

Karan Brar (born January 18, 1999 in Redmond , Washington ) is an American actor , best known for his role as Ravi Ross in the comedy series Jessie and as Chirag Gupta in the film adaptations of the children 's book series Gregs Diary by Jeff Kinney .

Life

Karan Brar was born in January 1999 in Redmond , Washington State, to Jasbinder and Harinder Brar. He grew up with his older sister in Bothell . There he attended Cedar Wood Elementary School and some acting workshops. Brar made his debut at the age of ten in the comedy Greg's Diary - Surrounded by Idiots! as an Indian middle school student Chirag Gupta . Born and raised in the United States, he naturally speaks with an American accent and works with a dialect trainer for his role. In March 2011 and August 2012, he took part in the two sequels Greg's Diary 2 - Are there any problems? and Greg's Diary 3 - It wasn't me! resumed his role as Chirag Gupta . Since autumn 2011 he took over in the Disney - Youth series Jessie alongside Debby Ryan and Peyton List the role of the Indian adoptee Ravi Ross . During the development of the series, the role of Ravi was originally intended as a Hispanic boy named Javier from South America . With Brar's good audition, the producers decided to rewrite the role for him. In between he had a small guest appearance in Pair of Kings - The King Brothers . At Christmas 2012 he starred in the TV movie Chilly Christmas alongside C. Thomas Howell . In 2014 published 3D - animated film Mr. Peabody & Sherman took Brar besides Ty Burrell , Max Charles and Stephen Colbert a voice.
