Robert Capron (born July 9, 1998 in Providence , Rhode Island ) is an American actor who is best known for his role as Rupert Jefferson in the film adaptations of the children 's book series Gregs Diary by Jeff Kinney .

Life

Robert Capron was in July 1998 in Providence in the US state of Rhode Iceland born. At the age of eight, he took an acting class sponsored by the Trinity Repertory Company . That same year he got a supporting role in Trinity's A Christmas Carol . Since then he has also played in many other plays . In 2009 he made his screen debut in the movie Bride Wars . Also in 2009 he was seen in a small supporting role as a student in Hachiko - A Wonderful Friendship . In 2010 he got his first lead role as Rowley Jefferson in the film Greg's Diary - Surrounded by Idiots! based on the book of the same name . There he plays the protagonist's best friend , Gregory Heffley , played by Zachary Gordon . In the same year he was also seen in Jerry Bruckheimer's Duel der Magier . In 2011 the sequel followed Greg's Diary 2 - Are there any problems? which is based on the second book in the series. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film at the Young Artist Awards 2012 . 2011 and 2012 he had a cameo appearance in the Nickelodeon - TV movie Best Player and two guest appearance on the Fantasy - Horror series RL Stine's The Haunting Hour American US the cable network The Hub .

His next role was in the third part of the Gregs Diary series, Gregs Diary 3 - It wasn't me! in which he again played the role of Rowley Jefferson . In late September 2012, he took on a speaking role in Tim Burton's remake of the 1984 short film Frankenweenie . In 2013 he starred alongside Steve Carell and AnnaSophia Robb in the movie Far Far Back in the role of Kyle .
