RL Stine's The Haunting Hour and The Haunting Hour: The Series is a US-American - Canadian Mystery - Horror - television series by R. L. Stine . The series has been produced by Haunting Hour Productions in collaboration with Front Street Pictures since 2010 and consists of episode films . It is based on the anthologies R.L. Stine - Again the witching hour and nightmare hour by R. L. Stine strikes .

concept

Similar to the TV series Goosebumps , each episode has a different cast and story. However, these stories are much darker than their predecessors mentioned above and some episodes serve as very dark moral stories. For example, the main character in the episode The Red Dress steals the dress of a blind witch and as a result of her selfishness, she loses her eyesight .

Production and broadcast

The series began on October 29, 2010 with a one-hour preview on the US cable channel The Hub , which replaced the Discovery Kids channel on October 10, 2010 . A one-hour Christmas special followed on December 25, 2010, before being shown weekly since January 2011. A second season with 18 episodes has already been ordered. Filming for the second season began on June 13, 2011 in Vancouver in the Canadian province of British Columbia . This season began broadcasting in the United States on October 1, 2011 on The Hub and ended on February 4, 2012. In the same month, RL Stine announced the extension for a third season via his Twitter account. The third season will be broadcast from October 13, 2012 to February 9, 2013 on The Hub.

Awards and nominations

For his guest appearance on the series won Baljodh Nagra at the 2012 Young Artist Awards the award for best guest actress in a television series , while Ricardo Hoyos , Dakota Goyo , Jason Spevack , Ava Rebecca Hughes and Jessica Mcleod were each nominated for her guest appearances in the same category . At the 2013 Young Artist Awards , Donnie MacNeil and Alissa Skobye were nominated for Best Guest Actress in a TV Series.

DVD publications

The first season of the series was split into four parts. Volume 1 & 2 were released on September 4, 2012 and Volume 3 & 4 on February 5, 2013.
