Young Artist Awards 2013

The Young Artist Awards 2013 were presented by the Young Artist Foundation , a non-profit organization founded in 1979 , on May 5, 2013 in the Empire Ballroom des Sportsmen's Lodge, a hotel in Studio City , Los Angeles . The nominations were previously announced on March 31, 2013. It is the 34th presentation of the awards since it was first presented in 1979 . The award was presented in a total of 49 categories for outstanding achievements by young actors and actresses in the fields of film , television and theater . At this award, achievements by young internet artists were also recognized for the first time by introducing the category of best internet presence.

The ceremony featured live music from Indiana pop group Jetset Getset , Los Angeles singer Agina Alvarez, and Kentucky musician Olivia Faye. Due to the death of Maureen Dragone , president and founder of the Young Artist Association, on February 8, 2013, a tribute was held in her honor during the award ceremony.
