Jared T. Raynor Gilman (born December 28, 1998 in New Jersey ) is an American actor . He is known for his role in the film Moonrise Kingdom (2012).

life and career

Jared Gilman was born to Leslie and Rick Gilman in December 1998 in the US state of New Jersey . While growing up in South Orange , New Jersey, he attended Newark Academy in Livingston . He is in the cross country and fencing team at the school and has been playing golf since he was three . He made his first acting experience in plays during the summer academy .

At the age of twelve he got his first role in Wes Anderson's comedy Moonrise Kingdom , which opened in May 2012 at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival . He plays it next to Bruce Willis , Edward Norton , Bill Murray and Kara Hayward the lead role of Sam Shakusky which in itself Suzy Bishop (played by Hayward) in love and blows with her in the wilderness, after which the community takes up the pursuit. For this role he was nominated at the Young Artist Awards 2013 in the category Best Actor in a Feature Film , and for the Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards in the category Best Youth Performance in a Lead or Supporting Role - Male . At the MTV Movie Awards 2013 he and Hayward received a nomination in the category Best Film Kiss for their mutual kiss .
