Let It Shine - Show What You Can Do! is an American film in the Disney Channel Original Movies series from 2012 . Directed by Paul Hoen ; the script was written by Eric Daniel and Don D. Scott . The film premiered on June 15, 2012 in the United States .

action

The action begins in Atlanta , Georgia , where a pastor's son Cyrus DeBarge and best friend Kris McDuffy meet their childhood friend Roxie Andrews again. Roxie is now a famous singer and is in a music label under contract that includes a songwriting - competition sponsors . Cyrus, a shy busboy who heads a youth choir, the rap -Music under the name "Truth," writes wins the competition with the song Do not Run Away ( English Do not Run Away not ~ run away), which sung by Kris has been. The song is about Roxie, but she gets it wrong and thinks the song is about Kris. Cyrus not only has to watch Kris get the laurels for "his" song, but also how he wins Roxie's heart. After Kris got all the fame, Cyrus distanced himself more and more from him. Cyrus is also in conflict with his father at this time, as rap is the music of the devil for Cyrus' dad.

When Cyrus and Roxie meet, Roxie tells him that she can talk to Cyrus much better than to Kris. Cyrus' father accepts his son's passion and supports him after reading the lyrics to the song Don't Run Away . Cyrus decides to use a song to proclaim that he is behind the pseudonym "Truth". However, this makes Roxie very angry, so she hits Cyrus and begs him and Kris to stay away from her. Cyrus faces arrogant rapper Da Bling in a competition that Cyrus wins. Kris decides to talk to Roxie and tells her that Cyrus is a great and nice person and that he didn't mean to hurt her. Finally, Roxie goes to church where she meets Cyrus and hugs him. Kris and Roxie are friends again, and Cyrus and Roxie become a couple. The film ends with the song Let It Shine .
