Retired at 35 is an American sitcom about a successful lawyer who, after visiting his parents, decides to move back in with them. Together with Hot in Cleveland, the series is TV Land's first in-house production . Between 2011 and 2012, a total of 20 episodes were produced in two seasons.
It was first broadcast in German on November 22, 2012 on Universal Channel .

David Robbins is a successful lawyer in New York . In order to get a little break from his busy everyday life, he decides one day to visit his parents Alan and Elaine, who are retired in Florida . In Florida he meets his childhood friend Brandon and his childhood sweetheart Jessica. He spontaneously makes the decision to turn his back on his old life. As a result, he quits his job in New York and wants to move back in with his parents. However, numerous problems arise, including the fact that his parents have been separated for a long time.

On October 26, 2009, TV Land commissioned a pilot for the series, which was to be produced by Chris Case. In April 2010, the broadcaster ordered nine more episodes for the pilot, which were to be recorded in front of a live audience.
George Segal was hired as the first leading actor . A month later, Johnathan McClain , Josh McDermitt and Ryan Michelle Bathe were signed . Jessica Walter was the last to join the main cast of the series.
TV Land extended the series for a second season in March 2011. For this season, Marissa Jaret Winokur was signed as Amy Robbins in October of the same year . Casey Wilson played this role in the pilot episode .
In mid-December 2012, TV Land announced the discontinuation of the series after two seasons.
