Leah Lewis (* 9. December 1996 in Shanghai , China , as Leah Marie Liang Lewis ) is an American actress .

Life

Lewis was born in the People's Republic of China in December 1996 . When she was six months old, she was adopted from a Shanghai orphanage and raised in Gotha , Florida . Her younger sister Lydia, who is not biologically related to Lewis, was later adopted from the same orphanage.

She discovered her acting talent at Thornebrooke Elementary School in Ocoee , Florida . She then attended Southwest Middle School in Orlando , Florida, and Gotha Middle School and Crenshaw School in Windermere , Florida. Lewis and her mother commuted between Los Angeles and Orlando during their teenage years . At 18, Lewis returned to Orlando to graduate from Olympic High School in Orlando. At the age of 19 she returned to Los Angeles alone.

Lewis has been in a relationship with actor and singer Payson Lewis since May 2016.

Career

Lewis began her career shooting commercials. Her first acting role was in the Nickelodeon television film Fred 3: Camp Fred . She then got a lead role as Peyton Hall in the planned Disney Channel television series Madison High , which is based on the High School Musical films. However, the series was not realized.

In early 2013, Lewis took part in the talent show The Voice USA , but dropped out of the blind auditions.

Between 2015 and 2019, Lewis appeared in supporting roles, including Gamer's Guide for Pretty much Everything (2015-2016), Charmed (2018) and Station 19 (2018-2019).

Since October 2019 Lewis has played the role of Georgia "George" Fan on The CW television series Nancy Drew . In the published 2020 Netflix - Comedy only half the story she got the lead role of Ellie Chu inside.
