The Gifted ( English for the Gifted ) is an American science fiction series in 2017, in the X-Men universe settled and the X-Men film series is connected. It is the second television series after Legion to be set in the X-Men universe. In April 2019 it was announced that the series had been discontinued after two seasons.
action
Mutant children Andy and Lauren Strucker run the risk of being held responsible for an incident at their high school. Their father Reed knows that the government is not well disposed towards them because it is his job to lock away these people with special skills. The Strucker family decides to join an underground group of mutants. From now on, they fight for survival together with the mutants Thunderbird, Blink, Polaris and Eclipse.
History of origin
The series takes place in another of the time streams of the fragmented X-Men universe that were introduced with the film X-Men: Future is Past . The Gifted was born from an idea by Matt Nix , who is the show runner of the series and worked with directors Bryan Singer and Len Wiseman to create it . The music for this was composed by John Ottman and David Buckley . Nix stated at Comic-Con in San Diego in July 2017 that while The Gifted will not play in exactly the same timeline as a particular film or comic, some of these well-known characters should be featured in the series. At its core, the series is also about civil rights.
The series has been aired on Fox since October 2, 2017 . In Germany, The Gifted was shown for the first time from January 17 to March 28, 2018 on the pay-TV channel FOX .
At the beginning of January 2018, the production of a second season was announced. As part of the San Diego Comic-Con , a trailer was presented for this in July 2018th In the US, the first episode of the second season will be broadcast on September 25, 2018. In Germany, the second season was shown on FOX from November 7, 2018 to February 27, 2019.
