Sami Slimani (born March 20, 1990 in Esslingen am Neckar , also known as Mr. Tutorial ) is a German-Tunisian moderator and producer of web videos .

Life

Sami Slimani was born in Esslingen am Neckar to a Tunisian father and a French mother of Tunisian origin and grew up with two sisters in Stuttgart.

In his high school phase in March 2009, he began using the pseudonym HerrTutorial (English "Tutorial" = Manual, Seminar) videos about beauty , fashion and lifestyle on YouTube to publish. In particular, test videos of corresponding consumer products take up a lot of space.

Slimani has been accused of not adequately flagging advertisements and paid product placements in its videos. The State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg suspected him of doing surreptitious advertising because the product distributors would reward him well for his consumption tips, and warned him. He is also accused of pretending to be in his videos. He describes himself as an "all-in-one guru".

Slimani's audience consists primarily of 13 to 17 year olds.

From May 2014 Slimani worked as a moderator at VIVA Germany . There he presented the chart show VIVA Top 100 in alternation with other moderators . He also published the book The Slimani Principle with his sisters in 2014 . The Slimani siblings market their own products under the Maison Slimani line . In April 2016, a fashion collection for the house brand Review was created in collaboration with Peek & Cloppenburg . The collection was received as “pretty average”. It would have looked "exactly the same, even without his help: heart prints, torn denim shorts, eye motifs on cropped T-shirts".

In March 2016, Slimani had synchronized roles with his sister in the animated film Kung Fu Panda 3 . In May 2017 he was seen as a participant in the VOX program Grill den Henssler . In February 2019 he took part in the Sat1 show Das große Backen - Promispezial (4th place).
