Taylor Daniel Lautner (born February 11, 1992 in Grand Rapids , Michigan ) is an American actor , model and voice actor .

Life

Taylor Lautner was born in 1992 to Deborah and Daniel Lautner. He is of French , Dutch , German, and distantly of American indigenous descent. He has a younger sister named Makena.

Lautner started taking karate lessons at the age of six . The following year he won several tournaments and was then allowed to train with the actor and martial artist Michael Chaturantabut (Mike Chat). At the age of seven, on the advice of Michael Chaturantabut, he took part in a casting for a Burger King commercial in Los Angeles , but was unsuccessful. At the age of eight he represented his country in an international karate competition, the WKA World Championships in Louisville . There he won three gold medals in the disciplines of freestyle and weapon forms in the Youth World Cup held parallel to the World Cup.

Parallel to his karate training, Lautner and a few friends began to practice parkour techniques , which they had seen in internet videos, just for the fun of movement . Lautner describes the course, which he has passionately pursued since then, as essential for his personal development. Parcours has changed his view of the environment and life, taught him to trust his own abilities in extreme situations and asked him to realistically assess, shift and expand his own limits, which improves his ability to assess himself and gives him self-confidence have given.

When Lautner was ten years old, his family moved to Los Angeles. He continued to take part in karate competitions. In 2003 he was at the top of the world rankings of NASKA ( The North American Sport Karate Association ) so-called Black Belt (black belt) in all four forms of competition that NASKA has (traditional, creative, extreme and choreographic). At the age of twelve he won the Junior World Championships.

His acting career began in 2001 with the television movie Shadow Fury . He became known, among other things, by Cheaper by the Dozen 2 , in which he plays Elliot Murtaugh . In 2006 he was nominated for the Young Artist Award for his role in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D .

In 2008 he took on the role of Jacob Black in the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's bestseller Twilight . For its sequel, New Moon (2009), Lautner had to train himself over ten kilograms of additional muscle mass. Lautner also played the role of Jacob Black in the further sequels Eclipse and Breaking Dawn .

In 2008 he was a third year high school student at Valencia High School in Santa Clarita . He also attended courses at a university. In his spare time, Lautner enjoys playing soccer and baseball , is a huge fan of the Texas Longhorns and Michigan Wolverines, and is a member of the Los Angeles area hard baseball program, where he plays as a center fielder and second baseman . He's also in a hip hop dance group called LA Hip Kids and a jazz dance group called Hot Shots .

In 2010 Lautner was dating Taylor Swift , whom he met on the set of Valentine's Day .

Lautner was in a relationship with actress Marie Avgeropoulos until the beginning of 2015 , with whom he played the leading roles in the action film Tracers .
