Marie Avgeropoulos (born June 17, 1986 in Thunder Bay , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress .

Life

Marie Avgeropoulos is of Greek descent. She studied television journalism for two years at the Port Arthur Collegiate Institute , an institute at Lakehead University in her hometown of Thunder Bay. She then traveled around Europe for two months before returning to Canada and moving to Vancouver where she attempted to establish herself as an actress. Playing drums since she was a teenager, she was cast in several Canadian commercials, where she was discovered by Chris Columbus , who in turn hired her for a small role in his comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper . In 2014 she got the lead role Octavia Blake in the American science fiction television series The 100 .

Avgeropoulos was in a relationship with actor Taylor Lautner until early 2015 , with whom she played the lead roles in the action film Tracers .
