action

High school spokesperson Denis Cooverman is a complete nerd who is secretly in love with the attractive cheerleader Beth Cooper, but hasn't even dared to speak to her. When he is supposed to give a speech at the closing event, he confesses his love to her in front of the entire school. Beth is embarrassed, but she also feels a little flattered. However, her lover Kevin is not that excited about it. Denis invites Beth and her friends to his "graduation party", to which his friend Richard comes, whom he outed as gay in his speech, which Richard denies. During the preparation, Denis' father wants to talk to him and tells him and Richard where he keeps his condoms.

When Denis' parents have left the house, Beth drives up with her friends. In the house, Denis opens a bottle of champagne while Beth is on the phone with her lover. The cork of the champagne injures Denis in the eye and Beth cools it. A little later, Beth's friend appears, who is a soldier because he has located the cell phone. Denis tries desperately to lock all the windows so that he cannot come in, but Kevin and his two friends come in through the open patio door. They throw bottles and a microwave at Denis and Richard. In Denis' room there is a fight between Denis and Kevin, which Denis almost loses, but Beth saves Denis. The two friends escape and drive away with Beth. They get beer and go to the beach.

A little later they are on their way to a party hosted by a girl who has called Denis a bitch. Beth sees Kevin making out with this slut and goes out. Then Kevin starts fighting again with Denis. But Denis doesn't want to fight back when a boy comes to his aid. Suddenly, Beth drives Kevin's car into the house and takes her friends, Denis and Richard, with her. They stop at school because Beth, as the chief cheerleader, has the school key. There the three friends go to the shower naked and Richard can convince Denis that he will do the same, but when Denis undresses, Kevin comes back. Everyone can flee because Richard defeats them in a towel fight.

They drive to the vacation home that belongs to a friend of Beth's. Denis also gets new clothes there. They start drinking and at dusk Beth and Denis go out to watch the sunrise. There they talk, come closer and kiss. In the house Richard wants to prove to the girls that he is not gay and goes to bed with them.

Then they all drive back to Denis' home, where his parents are already waiting for him. His father is proud of him, but still wants to punish him. At the end Beth and Denis kiss again and Beth promises him that if they are both still single at the class reunion, they will get married. When the girls drive away, Richard confesses to Denis that he's gay after all.
