Episode List : Miraculous - Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir / Episode List

Parisian teenagers Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste each receive an enchanted piece of jewelry - "Miraculous" - and the accompanying magical creature - "Kwami" (Tikki and Plagg) - through which they can transform themselves into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir. Together they fight against the people "akumatised" by Hawk Moth in order to save Paris.

"Hawk Moth" can enchant special butterflies in "Akumas", which turn people's dreams and desires into reality and turn them into opponents with supernatural powers working with Hawk Moth.

Besides that, Marinette and Adrien master their school day and are looking for love. The problem is that Adrien is in love with Ladybug and Marinette with Adrien, but neither of them know about the other's secret identity.

characters

Marinette Dupain-Cheng / Ladybug

Marinette is a nice, friendly youngster who looks like sunshine to everyone around her. She is always in a good mood, bright and positive, but also very clumsy, acts too late and impulsively. She is in love with the popular boy Adrien and keeps a secret: She is the superhero Ladybug. To transform into Ladybug, she needs her ladybug earrings (her Miraculous) and her Kwami , a little red and black creature that goes by the name Tikki. This creature calms her down and helps her on her missions. Together with Cat Noir, she thwarts the plans of the villain Hawk Moth. Your super power is called a lucky charm; it creates certain red objects with black dots that show Ladybug a way to defeat a villain. She also has a second superpower that she uses to capture the Akumas and "deacumatize" them. In addition, she later becomes the keeper of the Miraculous. Cat Noir likes to call her “little dots” or “my lady”.

Adrien Agreste / Cat Noir

Adrien is the son of the famous fashion designer Gabriel Agreste and a model himself. However, he has very little freedom, because for a long time his father wanted to protect him from the dangers of the world. His greatest wish is to lead a normal life as a normal boy. With his magical signet ring (his Miraculous) he transforms into Cat Noir. In love with Ladybug, he often shows off to win her over. However, his efforts are useless and she often turns him away. At Adrien's side is Plagg, his resentful, lazy, voracious and lousy Kwami, who doesn't help him, but is secretly there for him. Plagg loves Camembert . Adrien's superpower is cataclysm, which in various ways destroys or renders useless objects that he touches. He also has the power to see in the dark.

Gabriel Agreste / Hawk Moth / Scarlett Moth

Hawk Moth is the villain of the series and is hiding in a secret location in Paris. In truth, he's Gabriel Agreste, Adrien's father, which comes to light in Season 2 Episode 1. Through his Miraculous (a silver brooch that he wears on his chest) he has the power to track down people who have negative emotions and turn them into villains with the help of Akumas (magically transformed into black, actually white, butterflies) transform. He would like to take possession of the Miraculouses of Ladybug and Cat Noir in order to gain infinite power. Because an old legend tells that he who combines the power of destruction (Cat Noir) and the power of creation (Ladybug) will be the most powerful person on earth. He only wants this power to bring his wife Emelie, Adrien's mother, back to him, who is in a kind of endless sleep in a glass coffin in a secret room below the Agreste estate.

Chloé Bourgeois / Queen Bee / Antibug / Queen Wasp / Miracle Queen

Chloé is the daughter of the mayor of Paris, which she also shows off all the time. Like many other girls, she is in love with Adrien and a big fan of Ladybug. She is very conceited and thinks she is better because she is rich. Her best friend Sabrina is heartlessly exploited by her and bribed with gifts to do Chloé's homework. From the second season she stands by as Queen Bee Ladybug when the situation calls for it. Her miraculous (a hair comb) is kept by the guardian, it is usually brought to her by Ladybug. After being used as a superhero, she has to return her Miraculous.

Alya Césaire / Rena Rouge / Lady WiFi

Alya is Marinette's best friend. She helps her friend with many problems and accepts her for who she is. Alya is nice, tough and helpful. She is also a big fan of Ladybug and runs a blog, the so-called Ladybugblog. She often puts herself in danger for her own. Alya really wants to find out who is behind Ladybug's mask. Since the 2nd season she has been standing by Rena Rouge Ladybug and Cat Noir as the vixen. She does not own her Miraculous permanently either, it is brought to her by Ladybug.

Master Fu

Master Fu is the last living keeper of the Miraculous. In his youth he made a mistake that destroyed the Order of the Miraculous and lost two Miraculous (butterfly and peacock). He made sure that Marinette and Adrien find their Miraculouses, and he also keeps all the other Miraculouses in a magical gramophone. Since the second season he has been advising Ladybug and Cat Noir more often. He himself wears the Miraculous of the Turtle, which he can no longer use due to his age. After making Marinette the new Guardian, he loses all memories of the Miraculous and continues with his old love.

Nino Lahiffe / Carapace / Bubbler

Nino is Adrien's best friend and is always in a good mood. In the second season he receives, also only temporarily, the miraculous of the turtle and transforms into the superhero Carapace. He and Alya have been a couple since season one and know each other's secret identities.

Nathalie Sancoeur / Catalyst / Mayura

Nathalie is secretary and personal assistant to the fashion designer Gabriel Agreste and one of the secondary people during the first season. In the second season, her role becomes more and more important after it is revealed that she is privy to the machinations of her employer and supports him. In the season two finale, she takes the Peacock Miraculous out of Gabriel's vault and transforms into the super villain Mayura to help Hawk Moth when he is surrounded by the heroes. Nathalie's health gets worse and worse when she uses the Peacock Miraculous because it has been damaged. It becomes clear as the plot progresses that she secretly has feelings for Gabriel and would do anything to help him achieve his wish.

Lila Rossi / Volpina / Chameleon

Lila Rossi is the daughter of Italian diplomats who moved to Paris in the season one finale. She is a compulsive liar and manipulator. After being exposed for claiming to be a superhero herself in order to conquer Adrien, she wages a campaign of revenge against Ladybug. Hawk Moth then transforms her into Volpina, a super villain imitation of Rena Rouge. He sees her as the ideal servant, as she refuses to forgive Ladybug after she has been turned back. In the first episode of the third season she becomes the shape-changing super villain Chameleon for a short time and resolves to make life difficult for Marinette from now on, as she tries to expose her as a liar. In another new episode, Lila cooperates with Gabriel Agreste, who cares for his son Adrien and uses them to trigger negative emotions in people.

Kagami Tsurugi / Ryuko / Riposte / Oni-Chan

Kagami is the daughter of a Japanese business partner of Gabriel. She is a first class fencer and swordsman. At first she seemed a bit distant, but over time she tries to make friends. She has feelings for Adrien; In contrast to Chloé or Lila, does not try to win him over with flattery or lies, but always says exactly what she thinks. Despite their apparent rivalry with Marinette, the two girls eventually become friends.

Kwamis

Kwamis are thousands of years old little creatures that are found in a total of nineteen pieces of (fashion) jewelery (e.g. earrings, rings), the so-called miraculouses. These are hidden in an octagonal box in Master Fu's gramophone. The two most important ones, Ladybug's earrings and Cat Noir's ring, lie in a yin and yang under the lid of the box. Another five Miraculouss are in the form of a flower around the two. The remaining twelve are in small drawers on the sides. Overall, the kwamis are reminiscent of terms from Chinese astrology .

Miraculous and their kwamis have special powers, which primarily give the owner strength and speed. The kwamis also have the additional powers that are dependent on the respective Miraculouses. Kwamis always have to obey their owner, whether they like it or not. Miraculous can only be activated for a certain amount of time. After that, the kwamis have to recharge their energy by eating something and resting.

Tikki

Tikki is a ladybug-like kwami and lives in a pair of earrings. Like every Kwami, she is thousands of years old and has served several Ladybugs in various ages. Tikki or their Miraculous can create things and in this way helps Ladybug to defeat her opponents. Tikki was handed over to Marinette unnoticed by Master Fu when she helped him out of a mock emergency situation.

Plagg

Plagg is a cat-like kwami and lives in the Miraculous of Destruction, a ring. He has a particular fondness for cheese, which Adrien often gets into difficult situations. Adrien was given Plagg while helping the supposedly helpless Master Fu.

Wayzz

Wayzz is a turtle-like kwami owned by Master Fu. He is the master's personal kwami, but due to his old age he usually cannot transform (except in the double episode finale of the third season). Nino later receives the Miraculous from Wayzz if the situation so requires.

Nooroo

Nooroo is Gabriel Agreste's personal kwami. He involuntarily ended up in his possession and now reluctantly has to obey his orders. Nooroo resembles a butterfly. Hawk Moth can use his powers to transform butterflies into Akumas.

Trixx is a fox-like kwami and is kept by Master Fu. He is sometimes loaned to Alya to aid Ladybug and Cat Noir. Trixx masters the power to create illusions.
