Barbara takes part in an international design competition and has to travel to Los Angeles for it. But she is not alone on her journey there, because her mother Isabelle, who cannot let go of her, accompanies Barbara. But the journey between Paris and Los Angeles does not go according to plan and involves many obstacles.
This marks the beginning of an adventurous road trip across the United States for Isabelle (a 41-year-old divorced mother) and her daughter Barbara (a 16-year-old student). This is characterized by chases and stunts as well as tenderness, complicity and humor. The journey takes place in the background of the landscape of western Paris and large parts of the USA. In addition to familiar faces like Laurent, Barbara's father, and her best friend Hugo, the two also meet new people, such as B. two eager cops, an atypical American family, a Hollywood star stylist, and Laura Marano.
