Mackenzie "Mickey" Molng moves from Warwick , in the US state of Rhode Island , to Greenwich , Connecticut . Though a generally irresponsible person, she has to become the parental protector of her niece and nephew after her estranged and wealthy sister Pamela "Poodle" Pemberton and husband Christopher were arrested by the FBI for fraud and tax evasion. After a day caring for the three children, Mickey gets a call from her sister who tells her that she and Christopher are fleeing the country. As a result, Mickey tries to raise the three children with the help of their pseudo-friend Jimmy and the housekeeper Alba.

The German-language first broadcast took place on June 24, 2017 on the Austrian broadcaster ORF eins , the first season finale was broadcast on October 28, 2017. In Germany, the series originally started on June 27, 2017 on the ProSieben broadcaster , but ended there after only three episodes due to insufficient ratings.
