Nazneen Contractor (born August 26, 1982 in Mumbai , India ) is an actress of Parsee origin who made her breakthrough in 2008 through her participation in the television series The Border and achieved international fame.

Life

Nazneen Contractor saw the light of day in the Indian city of Mumbai and then grew up in Nigeria . When she was seven, her family moved to London and two years later to Toronto , where she spent most of her youth studying dance and acting.

Nazneen Contractor played her first television role in the 2000 episode Siren's Song of the television series Starhunter , and her first film role was in the feature film We R Friends, which premiered on July 28, 2006 in India .

Her breakthrough came in 2008 with her participation in the television series The Border , in which she played the role of Layla Hourani . For the next two years she starred as Kayla Hassan in 21 episodes of the television series 24 .

Nazneen Contractor belongs to the Parsees ethnic group who follow the teachings of Zoroastrianism . While it is estimated that there are only around 150,000 parsees left worldwide, more than 7,000 of them live in their long-standing hometown of Toronto.

Contractor currently resides in Los Angeles with husband Carlo Rota and son .

Her favorite leisure activities include running and yoga .
