Ransomware is a crime series that premiered in the United States on January 1, 2017. The series is an international co-production between CBS (USA), Global (Canada), TF1 (France) and RTL (Germany). In Germany, Ransom has been broadcast on VOX since March 29, 2017 . The series was based on an idea by David Vainola and is produced by Frank Spotnitz . Luke Roberts plays the leading role .

In May 2017, the RTLGroup announced that it no longer wanted to participate in any sequel to the series. The reason for this was the poor audience ratings for the broadcast on VOX. In October 2017, however, CBS and Global extended the series by a second season, which should again include 13 episodes. The shooting for it took place in Hungary . In July 2018, the series was extended by a third season, which began broadcasting in the United States on February 16, 2019.

action

At the center of the series is Eric Beaumont as an experienced negotiator in kidnappings. In contrast to classic crime novels, in which weapons are a central means of conflict resolution, the word and the negotiation are in the foreground with Ransom .

Laurent Combalbert, who is considered one of the most experienced crisis managers in the world and has participated in over 200 kidnapping operations, served as a role model in real life.

Cast and dubbing
