history

The company emerged from the telecommunications company Shaw Communications and was founded by JR Shaw. In 1999 Corus Entertainment was spun off from Shaw Communications and floated on the stock exchange.

In January 2016, the former parent company Shaw Communications was fully integrated into Corus Entertainment through takeover; numerous subcontractors now bear the Corus name, e. B. Global News , an Internet and TV news portal.
