Sarah Greene (born 1984 or 1985 in Cork , Ireland ) is an Irish actress .

Life

childhood and education

Sarah Greene took an interest in acting when she and her parents watched Red Riding Hood at the Cork Opera House. A short time later, her parents enrolled her in the CADA drama school. There she took acting lessons until she was 19 and appeared in various plays and musicals. Greene made her first stage appearance at the age of six. She played a twin in the play The King and I at the Cork Opera House. After graduating from CADA Acting School, Greene completed her acting training at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin , graduating in 2006.

Career

In 2006, Greene made a small appearance as a foosball girl in the TV movie Bachelors Walk Christmas Special. Greene got her first role in a movie in 2008. She played Imelda Egan in Eden . In 2009, Greene starred as the bar girl Cathleen in Love and Savagery .

In 2010 Greene played Amber in the play Grimm at the Peacock Theater in Dublin. In 2011, Greene played Sinead Mulligan in The Guard .

In 2013 and 2014, Sarah Greene starred alongside Daniel Radcliffe in The Cripple of Inishmaan . She received Tony Award and Laurence Olivier Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Helen McCormick . In 2014, Greene landed a role on the television series The Assets . In Noble Sarah Greene played with the young Christina Noble one of the leading roles. In 2014 she starred as Princess Judith in the TV series Vikings . Judith was to become one of the main characters in the third season of the series. Greene declined this offer to appear on Broadway. Sarah Greene has appeared in Penny Dreadful since 2015 .

Private life

Sarah Greene was dating the actor Aidan Turner . Turner and Greene met in 2005 when they appeared together in the play Titus Andronicus . Turner played Demetrius and Greene played a very small part. Then they lost sight of each other again. When they met again years later, they became a couple. In 2015, Greene and Turner split.
