Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader
- Appearances as Anakin
- Episodes: I , II , III , VI , IX (voice)
- Series: The Clone Wars , Rebels , The Forces of Fate
- Appearances as Darth Vader
Anakin Skywalker (* 41 VSY on Tatooine ; † 4 NSY on the 2nd Death Star over Endor ) was a Jedi knight who was trained by Obi-Wan Kenobi . He was considered the chosen one of an ancient Jedi prophecy and was supposed to restore the balance of power . He later became Darth Vader , a Sith and - also in his own ranks - a feared servant of the Emperor. The first six films in the series deal in particular with Anakin's turning away from the light side and his turning to the dark side of power and his eventual redemption. He was the father of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa . Anakin was a slave boy who had to work for a scrap dealer named Watto on Tatooine until he was nine years old . He was born into slavery as the son of the slave girl Shmi Skywalker . According to his mother, Anakin has no father ("I carried him to term, gave birth and raised him. I don't know what happened.").
During the Naboo crisis , he was found by the Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and freed from slavery. He recognized his talent and examined his midi chlorian value (way of measuring the strength of power in a person via a blood sample), which turned out to be an even higher potential than the Jedi master Yoda . By then, Qui-Gon suspected that Anakin was the chosen one to balance the power. Before the high council of the Jedi, he suggested Anakin for training as a Jedi. The council tested Anakin but refused to approve Qui-Gon's request. Anakin is already too old to start training and it is difficult for him to keep his emotions under control due to the separation from his mother. When Qui-Gon was killed shortly afterwards by the Sith Lord Darth Maul on Naboo and his student Obi-Wan was elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight, he took over the training of Anakin - with the reluctant consent of the Jedi Council.
Anakin was very talented in dealing with power during his training and it was not uncommon for him to surpass Obi-Wan's flair. However, he also showed unsettling features: he often disregarded Obi-Wan's instructions, often acted uncontrollably and emotionally and thereby put himself and others in danger. When his mother Shmi died in captivity in a tusk robber camp, he was furious and killed all the tusk robbers, including women and children. He tried to blame Obi-Wan for not taking him seriously and for holding him back in his training. In a duel with Darth Tyranus , in which he could not keep his emotions under control, Anakin lost his right hand and forearm, which were replaced by a prosthesis. Anakin and Padmé Amidala fell in love and secretly married on the planet Naboo. In the animated series The Clone Wars , he trained a Padawan student named Ahsoka Tano .
Padmé became pregnant three years later. She and Anakin kept this a secret, however, as the Jedi were forbidden to have relationships and Anakin would otherwise have been expelled from the Jedi Order.
Anakin had been named a Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars. Since then, Obi-Wan was no longer his master, and their relationship developed into that of brothers. Anakin also built an increasingly trusting relationship with Palpatine, the Republic's Supreme Chancellor. At the time, nobody knew that he was also the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, who had started the war between the Republic and the Separatists in his favor. He also saw the great potential in Anakin and manipulated him in order to later seduce him to the dark side. Anakin had visions of Padmé's death several times, and in order to save her, he accepted an offer of help from Palpatine, who also persuaded him that the Jedi were planning a violent overthrow. When the Jedi master Mace Windu wanted to arrest Palpatine, but then kill him in a supposedly defenseless state, Anakin, who believed he needed Palpatine to save Padmé, struck his right hand and Palpatine killed him with his lightning bolts. Then Anakin was given the name Darth Vader.
As Darth Vader, he killed hundreds of Jedi and Padawans whom he saw as traitors on behalf of Darth Sidious, murdered the leaders of the separatists on the planet Mustafar and strangled his pregnant wife Padmé, who was stunned by his actions, to the point of unconsciousness . Then he fought his old master Obi-Wan, defeated and lost his other, non-mechanical hand and both legs. Already severely injured, he suffered severe burns all over his body when his clothes caught fire from flowing lava. Obi-Wan could not bring himself to save him or kill him, and left Darth Vader dying. He survived anyway, Darth Sidious found him, and in the course of a life-saving operation he was put on black armor, which also included a mask with an integrated official device and cybernetic limbs. The combat suit became his essential equipment from then on.
After losing most of his limbs, Vader not only had to change his preferred lightsaber fighting style, but also suffered severe pain every day. As the Emperor's right-hand man and because of his brutality, Vader was feared even in his own ranks. Nevertheless, the service on his flagship, the Executor , was considered a safe career springboard . In the course of the struggle of the Galactic Empire, into which the republic had been transformed, against the Rebel Alliance, Vader became the executor of Emperor Palpatine's will. Although he did not succeed in retrieving the plans of the 1st Death Star captured by rebel spies in time, he nevertheless found the base of the rebel alliance on Yavin IV a short time later with the help of the imperial Moff Tarkin . However, the Death Star - a super weapon with which he tried to destroy the moon - was destroyed by Luke Skywalker .
In retaliation for the destruction of the Death Star, the rebel base on Yavin IV was overrun by Imperial troops. Vader pursued the fleeing rebels halfway across the galaxy, who eventually hid on the ice planet Hoth . But even here he found her with the help of spy probes. Vader commanded a ground attack to destroy the base. Although the rebel line of defense was breached, many escaped using transport ships. In order to move his son Luke to turn to the dark side of the force, he captured Han Solo and Leia Organa on Bespin . Luke, who wanted to free his friends, fell into the trap and had to face Vader. In the course of the ensuing argument, Vader revealed to Luke that he was his father. In this fight Luke lost his right arm, but resisted Vader's attempt to make him fall away from the light side of the Force and was able to save himself by fleeing from him.
When the rebels launched an attack on the Empire's second Death Star, Vader ran into Luke again. He wanted to save his father from the dark side, but was brought to the emperor by him. But even Vader's master failed to convince Luke of the need to turn to the dark side. When the Emperor was finally about to kill Luke aboard the second Death Star, Vader turned on the Emperor, killed him and saved Luke. He died on the spot in the arms of his son and with his helmet off from his injuries from fighting Luke and the Emperor. In his last breaths he acknowledged the light side of power again, which enabled him to become one with power like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda - contrary to what the prophecy had been interpreted, he was able to restore balance to power. His body was brought to Endor by Luke and burned there along with his armor.
Anakin Skywalker was portrayed in Episode I by Jake Lloyd , in Episodes II and III by Hayden Christensen, and in Episodes IV-VI as Darth Vader by bodybuilder David Prowse , but the face under the mask in Episode VI is that of Sebastian Shaw . The original voice is that of James Earl Jones . The unmistakable breathing sound was created while shooting with a diver's regulator .
Bob Anderson , a British fencer and actor, choreographed the fencing matches for the original Star Wars films (1976-1983), where he portrayed them in Darth Vader costume for the film itself.
In the anthology film Rogue One , Spencer Wilding and Daniel Naprous took over the visual representation of Darth Vader, Jones again the dubbing.
In the 2004 DVD release of the original trilogy ( Episodes IV through VI ), Shaw was digitally replaced by Christensen in the final scene of the deceased Jedi Masters.
The German dubbing voice of Darth Vader was Heinz Petruo , who died on November 12, 2001. In Episode III and in the Rebels series , Reiner Schöne did the dubbing. In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story he was voiced by Martin Kautz . The German dubbing voice of Anakin Skywalker is Wanja Gerick . In episode VI , Anakin was spoken to by Horst Schön .
For his role as Anakin Skywalker, Jake Lloyd was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Young Actor in 2000. Hayden Christensen was nominated for Best Actor in 2003 and 2005 .
BB-8
Appearances:
- Episodes: VII , VIII , IX
- Series: Resistance , The Forces of Fate
BB-8 was an astromech droid that Poe Dameron served as co-pilot in his X-wing. This had brought into his possession a map that led to the missing Jedi Luke Skywalker . Since the First Order was also looking for the map, Poe Dameron had to turn it over to BB-8. With the help of the junk collector Rey and the deserted stormtrooper Finn , BB-8 was able to break through to the resistance and deliver the map. He then helped Poe Dameron fight First Order troops.
C-3PO
Appearances:
- Episodes: I , II , III , IV , V , VI , VII , VIII , IX
- Anthology: Rogue One
- Series: The Clone Wars , Rebels , The Forces of Fate (voice)
C-3PO was a droid, more precisely a humanoid robot , programmed for protocol questions and translation. The droids on this model have an outer skin made of shiny metal and a human- like build .
C-3PO was assembled from individual parts by the young Anakin Skywalker , where he was still missing the outer panel. It was on Tatooine that he first met R2-D2 , who he met more often later. When Anakin left Tatooine, C-3PO remained in the possession of Anakin's mother. When she was ransomed from her slave existence, C-3PO went with her into the Lars family, who lived near the town of Mos Eisley. After Anakin returned to Tatooine to rescue his mother who had been abducted by Sandpeople, he took his droid with him. C-3PO got its golden envelope when it passed into the possession of Padmé Amidala and she was appointed senator. When Anakin defected to the dark side of the Force and became Darth Vader, C-3PO entered the service of the Rebellion and his memory of his previous life was erased so he could not tell anyone that Padmé, Anakin's wife, had given birth to two children before she died.
During the Galactic Civil War era, C-3PO and R2-D2 were involved in handing the plans for the Death Star Combat Station over to the Rebellion, resulting in its destruction. On Bespin , C-3PO was shot by Imperial stormtroopers, but Chewbacca and R2 were able to repair it. In the final battle against the Empire on Endor , C-3PO was worshiped as a deity by the local Ewoks, who later joined the fight against the Empire and contributed to the victory of the rebels who had since been defeated.
During the New Republic period, C-3PO continued to serve Leia Organa and was an integral part of the resistance in the fight against the First Order.
He later helped Chewbacca, Poe, Finn and Rey find an artifact that would guide them to Exegol . When he deciphered a Sith message and his programming prevented him from communicating its contents, his programming was reset when the mechanic Babu Frik broke into his data memory on Kijimi . With the help of R2-D2 he got back an old, stored memory after the mission, but could no longer remember the incidents on Kijimi.
C-3PO was - in contrast to the brave R2-D2 - the typical antihero . He talked a lot and quickly got on the nerves of his owners and companions, although he always acted out of sheer caution and politeness. Along with R2-D2, C-3PO is one of the few characters who appear in all the films in the Star Wars saga. “They are the real heroes of the saga,” as its creator George Lucas put it. Lucas has modeled the characters C-3PO and R2-D2 after the crooks Tahei and Matashichi from Akira Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress , which the author uses to use a certain narrative technique from the perspective of the paired characters.
C-3PO was portrayed by Anthony Daniels . His German voice actor was in the prequel trilogy Wolfgang Numbers , in the classic trilogy (IV-VI) and the sequel trilogy (VII-IX) Joachim Tennstedt lent him his voice.
C-3PO was designed by the illustrator Ralph McQuarrie , who based the design on the Maria from Metropolis .
Chewbacca
Appearances:
- Episodes: III , IV , V , VI , VII , VIII , IX .
- Anthology: Solo
- Series: The Clone Wars , The Forces Of Destiny
Chewbacca (* 200 VSY in Kashyyyk ) (nickname Chewie ) is the co-pilot and friend of Han Solo . He belongs to the people of the Wookiees, who are characterized by a striking height (2.28 m in the case of Chewbacca), complete body hair and the communication via roaring and grunting noises. He was born on Kashyyyk, the home planet of the Wookiees. Chewbacca was around 200 years old at the time of the Battle of Yavin. In the war between the Old Republic and the Separatists, he met the Jedi master Yoda , who had come with Star Destroyers and Clone Warriors to defend Kashyyyk. After the Clone Warriors turned against the Jedi , Chewbacca took Yoda to safety.
After the Emperor came to power and the Empire rose, Chewbacca and other Wookies were kidnapped and enslaved by Imperials. On the planet Mimban , Chewbacca was imprisoned for a long time in a pit, where numerous deserters of the storm troops were thrown to him to eat . On Mimban he met the deserted imperial soldier Han Solo , who helped him to freedom and left the planet with him and the gang of Tobias Beckett . Chewbacca participated in the robbery of an Imperial train and followed Han Solo and Beckett onto Dryden Vos ' yacht , where he and his colleagues were hired to procure Coaxium on Kessel . After the coaxium was stolen, Chewbacca helped Han on Savareen to hand over the fuel to the pirate Enfys Nest and to defraud Dryden Vos. After Han Solo won the Millennium Falcon in a sabacc game against Lando Calrissian , Chewbacca became Hans copilot and worked with him as a partner as a smuggler.
On board the Millennium Falcon he was co-pilot, navigator and mechanic. During the war against the Galactic Empire, Chewbacca stayed at Han Solo’s side and met Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa , among others . He was a key member of the Rebel Alliance.
Almost 30 years after the destruction of the Second Death Star, Chewbacca was part of the Resistance along with Han Solo, helping to destroy the First Order Starkiller Base. After his friend Han was killed by his son Ben Solo , he then accompanied the junk collector Rey to ask Luke Skywalker for help. From then on, he supported Rey in the fight against the First Order and saved the members of the resistance after the battle for Crait. During the subsequent war between the First Order and the Resistance, Chewbacca led the Resistance Fleet together with General Lando Calrissian in the Millennium Falcon in the final battle on Exegol .
Chewbacca was portrayed by Peter Mayhew in Episodes III through VII . In Episode VII , Chewbacca was doubled in some scenes by Joonas Suotamo , as Mayhew could no longer play many scenes himself due to his age. From Episode VIII , Suotamo took over the role completely, Mayhew remained as an advisor.
Finn / FN-2187
Appearances:
- Episodes: VII , VIII , IX
- Series: The Forces of Fate
Under the number FN-2187 (* 11 NSY) a stormtrooper of the First Order was known, who participated in the procurement of a map that should lead to the missing last Jedi Luke Skywalker . However, he deserted after his mission on Jakku and freed the resistance fighter Poe Dameron . Since he had to leave the map on Jakku, they returned there, with Dameron nicknamed the stormtrooper Finn , which he himself used in the future. When they crash-landed on Jakku, the two were separated and Finn met the junk collector Rey and the droid BB-8 , who was keeping the plans for Dameron. Together they fled the First Order, as Finn claimed to be part of the rebellion, and shortly afterwards participated in the destruction of the Starkiller Base of the First Order. Finn was seriously injured by Kylo Ren , but Rey brought him on board the Millennium Falcon and received medical attention afterwards. After waking from his coma, he took part in a mission to work with Rose Tico and BB-8 to disable a direction finder aboard Supreme Leader Snoke's Supremacy . After the three on Canto Bight were arrested by the local police, they managed to escape together with DJ and they ended up on the mega-class Star Destroyer. There they were discovered by the First Order, however, and their plan failed. After the Supremacy was badly damaged by Vice Admiral Holdo , Finn managed to overpower his former stormtrooper instructor and leader, Captain Phasma , who subsequently fell to her death. In the ensuing battle for Crait , he was stopped by Rose at the last second by a suicide mission and was able to flee the planet along with the rest of the resistance.
A year after this event, Finn flew on behalf of Leia Organa with Poe Dameron, Chewbacca and the mechanic Klaud, to the Sinta Glacier Colony, where the resistance had been arranged with an informant. Some time later, Finn took part in the mission, together with Rey, Poe, Chewbacca and the droids BB-8 and C-3PO, to search for the Emperor's Sith Pathfinder . After the numerous events of this mission, Finn and his associates, after a brief stay on the planet Kijimi , infiltrated the Star Destroyer Steadfast of the First Order to free the captured Chewbacca. There he and Poe were also captured for the time being, but were later able to escape from the destroyer with the help of the resistance spy Armitage Hux . On the moon Kef Bir Finn met the former stormtrooper Jannah , who, like himself, had deserted. Shortly after Leia Organa's death, Poe Dameron made him the second general of the resistance. Together with Jannah and the other supporters of the resistance, Finn fought in the atmosphere of Exegol , in the decisive battle against the First Order and the Emperor's fleet.
Finn often felt the power within and was able to act instinctively through it in certain situations. For example, he felt the death of his girlfriend Rey or could sense that the Sith fleet was only controlled by a lead ship. For a long time he struggled to tell his girlfriend, the Jedi student Rey, about this.
Finn was portrayed by John Boyega and dubbed in German by Stefan Günther . For his role as Finn , John Boyega was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Actor in 2016 .
Han Solo
Appearances:
Han Solo (* 32 VSY on Corellia ; † 34 NSY on the Starkiller base) was a smuggler, pilot of the Millennium Falcon and later a general of the Rebel Alliance. Hans father was a factory worker in a spaceport building Corellian YT freighters. As an orphan, Han did his first criminal assignments for the gang of white worms at a young age. Together with his childhood sweetheart Qi'ra , Han tricked the leader of the white worms, Lady Proxima , and the two managed to escape from the bondage of the white worms. Han planned to leave Corellia with Qi'ra, but it never came about because the white worm thugs managed to recapture Qi'ra. To one day rescue his girlfriend from the clutches of the gang, Han joined the Academy of the Galactic Empire to become a pilot. Han was given the surname Solo by the Imperial officer Drawd Munbrin .
Years later, Han had to serve as a soldier in the Battle of Mimban and caught the gangsters Tobias Beckett , Rio Durant and Val , disguised as Imperial , planning to steal an Imperial cargo ship for a robbery. Han tried to join the gang, but was initially unmasked by Tobias Beckett as an alleged deserter and was supposed to be thrown into a pit to eat the Wookie Chewbacca for high treason . Han promised Chewbacca freedom and was able to persuade the Wookie to help him break out of the pit. Together they fled with the gang of Tobias Beckett, who had now changed his mind, from Mimban and initially became part of the crew. Han took part in a robbery on the planet Vandor on an imperial train that transported the valuable fuel Coaxium, which Tobias Beckett had to procure for his client Dryden Vos . The robbery failed, however, because the pirate gang of sky dogs intervened and provoked the crew to drop the uncoupled wagon with the Coaxium. In the stolen AT charger, he had to watch Rio die of his injuries. After many years on the Dryden Vos yacht, Han met Qi'ra again by chance, who now worked for the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn . Han, Qi'ra, Chewbacca and Beckett hired by Vos, unrefined Coaxium on boiler to steal. In the lodge bar on Vandor, Han met the smuggler Lando Calrissian , who promised to fly the crew to Kessel with his ship - the Millennium Falcon . After the successful heist on Kessel, Han managed to fly the Kessel flight with the Millennium Falcon in a record-breaking time. On the planet Savareen , Han and his crew met again the Sky Dogs and their leader Enfys Nest , who however revealed themselves as part of the young rebels who wanted to bring the Coaxium into their possession to build an alliance. Han decided to help Enfys and tricked Dryden Vos and Tobias Beckett, who betrayed Han, into leaving the Coaxium to the Heavenly Hounds . In a final confrontation with Tobias Beckett, Han managed to shoot him, but had to watch as Qi'ra, after killing Dryden Vos, also betrayed him and flew away in her former master's yacht. Shortly after the events on Savareen, Han won a sabacc game against Lando Calrissian, the Millennium Falcon, and began a new life as a smuggler with Chewbacca.
Years later he met Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker in the cantina bar on Tatooine . Because he had to send a shipload of smuggled goods to the Empire for Jabba , he had long debts to him, which is why the latter had put a considerable bounty on him. To evade his hunters, he joined the rebel alliance, freed the captured Leia Organa together with Skywalker and helped destroy the Death Star.
The bounty hunter Boba Fett finally succeeded in handing Han over to Jabba the Hut after he was frozen in carbonite. He had made a deal with Darth Vader that Han used as bait for Luke to turn him over to the dark side. After this failed, however, Vader handed over the frozen smuggler who was only supposed to test the suitability of the facility before attempting to bring Skywalker in carbonite to the Emperor . Han was later freed by Princess Leia, killing Jabba. In the Battle of Endor , Han led the rebel raiding party as a general on the forest moon, which was supposed to turn off the shield generator of the second Death Star. It was around this time that Luke and Leia found out they were siblings, while Han and Leia fell in love.
Many years after defeating the Empire, Han and Leia had a son, whom they named Ben Solo . While studying Jedi under Luke Skywalker, Ben fell for the dark side and became Kylo Ren. After this setback and the disappearance of Luke, Han went back to his old life as a smuggler and parted company with Leia. At the time of the first order, he met in his previously stolen Millennium Falcon on Rey and Finn and accompanied her to the base of resistance, where he met his wife Leia Organa. Together with Chewbacca, he accompanied Finn, Poe Dameron and Rey to the Starkiller base, an ice world redesigned into a superweapon, the destructive power of which exceeded that of the Death Star many times over. There he confronted his son and tried to convert him back to the light side of power. However, Kylo could not be dissuaded from his path and killed his father.
In the episodes IV to VII and IX Han Solo was developed by Harrison Ford embodies. With the role he made his breakthrough as an actor. His German voice was Wolfgang Pampel . Alden Ehrenreich took on the role of the smuggler in Solo: A Star Wars Story . Despite the death of his role in Episode VII , Ford starred again in the role of Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode IX . This time, however, he only played a small role, in the form of a memory that speaks to his son Kylo Ren's conscience. In Solo Han was spoken in the German version by Florian Clyde , who received a lot of praise for his work. Harrison Ford received the 2016 Saturn Award for Best Actor for his role as Han Solo . In 1977 he was nominated for the same category.
Lando Calrissian
Appearances:
Landonis Balthazar "Lando" Calrissian III (* before 32 VSY on Socorro ) was baron and administrator of Cloud City, a Tibanna gas mine and amusement center on the planet Bespin . He was the original owner of the Millennium Falcon , which he lost to Han Solo while gambling . He also won the gas mine in a Sabbac game. At a young age as a smuggler, he met the smugglers Han Solo , Tobias Beckett and Chewbacca in a bar on Vandor , who wanted to recruit him for a robbery on Kessel . Lando took part in the robbery and lost his co-pilot, the droid L3-37, with whom he had a close relationship, in a battle. Lando was injured during the escape and with Han Solo at the helm of the falcon , the crooks managed the corsair flight to Savareen , where Lando fled with the completely demolished ship. He later lost a sabacc game against Han Solo and handed him the Millenium Falcon as a fair loser .
When Han Solo and his companions made their way to Bespin, the planet was secretly brought under control by Darth Vader and his stormtroopers. Lando had no choice but made an agreement with Vader to capture the rebel leaders who were approaching Cloud City. For this he was almost strangled by Chewbacca . Lando quickly realized, however, that Vader was changing the agreement at will. Contrary to the original goal of only seizing Luke Skywalker , Han Solo should now be handed over to the bounty hunter Boba Fett and Leia and Chewbacca should be taken away by Vader. Han was used as bait and was initially tortured to make Luke feel the pain of the Force. After that, Vader had it frozen in carbonite to test the facility. Vader wanted to freeze Luke, who was rushing to the aid of his friends, and bring him to the Emperor to win him over to the dark side. Lando then helped Leia, Chewbacca, and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO escape when he realized that Vader might break the entire agreement and keep Bespin under his control. Luke escaped too, but Han remained in the hands of the bounty hunter who took him to Jabba the Hutt .
A year later he infiltrated the palace of Jabba and helped Luke and Leia free Han Solo. In the meantime he had joined the rebel alliance like his comrades and was promoted to general. In the Battle of Endor he participated in the attack on the Death Star of the Empire and destroyed it as a pilot of the Millennium Falcon , while Luke succeeded in converting his father Darth Vader back to the light side and defeating the Emperor for the time being.
After the fall of the Galactic Empire, Lando and Luke Skywalker searched for the Sith assassin Ochi von Bestoon . Lando later had a daughter with an unknown woman, who was kidnapped by the First Order and drafted into the army. Hoping that his daughter would return one day, Lando decided to give up his life as a smuggler and spend the rest of his days on the desert planet Pasaana . Lando lived there for a few years under the code name The Hermit .
Years later, Lando on Pasaana met his old friend Chewbacca and the resistance fighters Poe Dameron , Rey , Finn , C-3PO and BB-8 , where he helped them escape from First Order stormtroopers. In memory of the late Leia and the times of the rebellion, he finally decided to join the resistance for the final battle against the Emperor. Before the Battle of Exegol , he persuaded all rebels, well-fortified civilians of the galaxy, to join the resistance in the fight against the First Order and the Sith fleet. Together with the newly recruited Wedge Antilles and Chewbacca, he surprised the enemy armada with a large rebel fleet led by him.
Lando was portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in Episodes V, VI, and IX . His German dubbing voice comes from Frank Glaubrecht , who also lent his voice to Lando in the Star Wars Rebels series . In the film Solo: A Star Wars Story Lando was played by Donald Glover , in the German version the character was voiced by René Dawn-Claude .
In Episode IX it is implied that the resistance fighter and deserted stormtrooper Jannah Lando's missing daughter. However, it has not yet been officially confirmed by any of the contributors.
For his role as Lando Calrissian , Billy Dee Williams was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1980 and 1983 .
Leia Organa
Appearances:
- Episodes: III , IV , V , VI , VII , VIII , IX
- Anthology: Rogue One
- Series: Rebels , Resistance , The Forces of Fate
Princess Leia Organa (* 19 VSY on Polis Massa ; † 35 NSY on Ajan Kloss ), daughter of Senator Padmé Amidala and Jedi Anakin Skywalker , was separated from her brother Luke after her birth and brought to Alderaan . There she grew up as the adopted daughter of Senator Bail Organa and Queen Breha Antilles Organa under the name Organa. Through adoption, she became the Princess of Alderaan, which is why she was often called the Princess .
She was a leader in the rebellion against the Empire. Her adoptive father hired her after the Death Star's plans were sent to her to move Obi-Wan Kenobi from Tatooine to Alderaan. Before she could visit the Jedi Master, she was captured by Darth Vader and his stormtroopers after a brief battle . He took her to the First Death Star and personally interrogated and tortured her to find out where she had hidden the plans and where the rebel base was. When confronted with the destruction of her home country, she lied about the whereabouts of the rebels and gave the planetary system of an earlier base as the current location. Still, she could not prevent Alderaan from being destroyed, as a sign of the strength of the Galactic Empire. After her lie was exposed, she was sentenced to execution and initially taken to the maximum security wing. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker , Han Solo and Chewbacca found out about it through the help of the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 and were able to free them. Not knowing that the ship was equipped with a tracking device, she decided to fly to Yavin IV to deliver the Alliance's plans. The Death Star was able to track down the rebel base through the tracking device and was about to destroy it with its powerful main weapon. Just in time, Luke succeeded with the help of the plans to attack the weak point of the Death Star and destroy it.
After this attack, the rebels were driven from their base by the Imperial Fleet. They found a new base on Hoth , but here too they could track down Darth Vader. On her escape, she first got closer to Han Solo and the two fell more and more in love. After escaping from an Exogorth in which the Millennium Falcon had landed, Leia and her troop sought out the cloud city on Bespin to seek help from Han Solo's friend Lando Calrissian . However, this betrayed them to the Empire and Han Solo was captured and Luke Skywalker seriously injured in a fight with Vader. Some time later Leia was able to free the smuggler from the clutches of the gangster Jabba with the help of Luke, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca . On this rescue mission, Leia disguised herself as the bounty hunter Boushh, whose mask she had recently received together with her friend Maz Kanata , and infiltrated the gangster's palace. There she flew up and was held as the Hutten's slave for a short time. While escaping from the sailing boat, Leia strangled the Hutten with a chain. Later she was a member of the rebel strike force on Endor , which destroyed the shield generator for the second Death Star and thus enabled the attack on the Death Star itself. At that time, she learned from Luke that he was her twin brother and Darth Vader was her father.
Many years after the fall of the Galactic Empire, Leia began her Jedi training under Luke Skywalker. However, she ended this prematurely because she had visions of the death of her future son at the end of her education. Together with her husband Han Solo, she finally had their son Ben Solo 5 NSY . From then on she took care of her political career again as part of the New Republic. Since everyone went back to their own business, she separated from Han for the time being. When a new empire slowly but surely rose under Supreme Leader Snoke with the First Order, Leia single-handedly founded the resistance because the Senate of the New Republic did not take this new threat seriously. With the resistance, Leia initially only wanted to monitor the activities of the First Order, but when it arose as a new galaxy-wide threat and brought about the beginning of a new war, the resistance under Leia began to form a defensive force against their new enemies. From then on a new bitter war raged between rebels and the First Order. The Resistance established its first base on the planet D'Qar. Leia's son Ben, who was trained by her brother Luke Skywalker, fell to the dark side of the Force after several events and destroyed the Jedi Temple under the new name Kylo Ren. Leia's brother then retired into exile. A few years later, Leia went with the resistance in search of her brother in order to bring him back for the fight against the First Order. As a general of the resistance, she was involved in the destruction of the Starkiller Base of the First Order. Then she sent the young Rey away to find Luke Skywalker and convince him to return. Leia was one of the few who knew Rey was the granddaughter of the former Emperor Sheev Palpatine . She coordinated the escape of the resistance from the troops of the First Order and only barely survived an attack by them on the bridge of her ship, in which she could pull herself back into the ship with the force. Due to her prolonged stay in free space, Leia fell into a coma and only woke up when her brother Luke contacted her with the Force. Shortly afterwards she was able to end the mutiny of Poe Dameron and together with her comrades she came up with a plan to hide at the former base of the rebels on the planet Crait while fleeing from the First Order . However, this plan was betrayed to the First Order by code breaker DJ and a battle broke out in the salt desert of Crait. The resistance lost this battle, but was saved by a projection of power from Luke Skywalker, who shortly before his death spoke to Leia one last time that her son Ben was not lost. Her brother's diversion allowed the resistance to flee to the Millennium Falcon.
A year later Leia took over Rey's Jedi training as a master at the new Resistance Base on Ajan Kloss. As the final act before her death, she contacted her son with the power to convert him to the light side. Due to the immense loss of strength and her age-related weakness, Leia finally died shortly before the final battle against the returned Emperor. When Ben Solo finally died as a Jedi on Exegol , she and her son became one with power. Together with her brother Luke, after defeating the First Order and the Emperor's fleet, she met her student Rey as a power spirit on Tatooine .
Princess Leia was portrayed in the episodes of Carrie Fisher , who died in December 2016, and was dubbed in German by Susanna Bonaséwicz . In Rogue One , Leia was played by Ingvild Deila . Using computer technology, the facial features of the young Carrie Fisher were superimposed in post-production. In Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019), Fisher was incorporated into the plot of the films one last time through the use of unused footage. In the German version of Rogue One , Leia was dubbed again by Susanna Bonaséwicz. In the animated series Star Wars Rebels and Die Mächte des Schicksals Leia is spoken in German by Magdalena Turba . For her role as Leia Organa , Carrie Fisher was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Actress (1983) and Best Supporting Actress (2016).
Luke Skywalker
Appearances:
- Episodes: III , IV , V , VI , VII , VIII , IX
- Series: Star Wars Rebels , The Forces Of Destiny
Luke Skywalker (* 19 VSY on Polis Massa , † 34 NSY on Ahch-To ) was the son of Senator Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker . He was the twin brother of Princess Leia Organa . Both were raised separately after birth so that their father, who at that time was already the dark Sith Lord Darth Vader, could not find out about them and would not look for them later. Little did Vader know at first that Padmé Amidala had given birth to her children before she died. He was completely unaware that there were even twins.
Luke Skywalker was raised on the planet Tatooine by his uncle Owen Lars and his wife Beru . During this time, he mainly acquired the skills to survive in the desert and repair droids. However, his uncle had forbidden him to leave the farm and go to an academy because he needed Luke for the harvest.
After acquiring the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO , Luke's life changed radically. Imperial soldiers searching for the two droids killed Owen and Beru. Luke was at the time with the droids with the hermit Obi-Wan Kenobi , who Luke was only known as Ben Kenobi. After the death of what he believed to be his only relatives, there was nothing left to keep him on Tatooine. So Obi-Wan began to instruct Luke in the first steps of power, as he had been planning to do since Luke was born, since after the disappointment with Anakin he assumed Luke as the chosen one of the prophecy. However, Kenobi died in a fight with his former student Darth Vader.
After having played a decisive role in the destruction of the first Death Star (he fired a torpedo directly into a ventilation shaft of the Death Star that led to the central reactor), he received the rank of commander in the rebel army. There he served as a scout for a rebel base on the ice planet Hoth . His knowledge of the use of power often saved him from being killed. In search of the rebel hideout, Darth Vader sent out spy probes. The rebel base on Hoth was discovered and Imperial forces destroyed it while the occupation fled. Luke did not meet with the other ships at the assembly point, but flew to Dagobah , as Obi-Wan had told him as a power spirit. There he met Yoda , the last living Jedi master, and began his training as a Jedi knight.
However, he broke off the training early to save his friends on Bespin . There he had to face Darth Vader for the first time. He was badly injured (Vader cut off his right hand) in the lightsaber duel against the Dark Lord, who revealed to him that he was his father. Luke Skywalker was able to escape and, like his father before, received an artificial hand. He later returned to Tatooine to the now-abandoned Obi-Wan Kenobi hut to make a new lightsaber.
When he learned that Han Solo was being held captive by Jabba the Hutt , he freed him with the help of Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian , Chewbacca and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. Before he rejoined the rebel army, he flew to Dagobah again to complete his training with Yoda. Yoda explained to him that he had to face Vader again to become a true Jedi Knight. He received assurance that Darth Vader is his father and Leia Organa is his twin sister. The latter he learned from Obi-Wan's ghost. The weakened Yoda subsequently died at the age of nearly 900 and became one with power.
Luke joined Han Solo, who has meanwhile been promoted to general, to deactivate the protective shield of the new Death Star on the forest moon Endor . This should enable an attack on the second Death Star under construction in space via Endor. Luke Darth Vader stood on Endor because he thought he could convert him to the light side of the force. However, this brought him to the Emperor, who wanted to lead Luke to the dark side. After a duel between Vader and Luke, the Emperor realized that he had failed due to the strong will of the Jedi and tried to kill Luke. But shortly before Luke's death, Darth Vader saved his son. Vader threw the Emperor into the Death Star's reactor shaft. Luke's hope that there is still something good in his father has been confirmed. The exhausting fight with his son and the attack on the Emperor had injured Darth Vader fatally - the lightning bolts of the Emperor hit Vader and disabled the functions of his life-sustaining armor. He died in Luke's arms. After that, just before the destruction of the second Death Star, Luke fled with his father's corpse in an Imperial space shuttle.
Together with Lando Calrissian, after defeating the Empire, Luke went on a search for lost Sith relics of the Emperor and the secret world of the Sith, Exegol . After his student and nephew Ben Solo fell into the dark side of the Force and destroyed Luke's emerging Jedi Order, he retreated into exile on the remote planet Ahch-To , where he settled in the original Jedi Temple. However, with the help of R2- D2, Rey was able to track him down. After initial doubts, he began to instruct Rey and explain to her why he had to go into exile and was no longer interested in following the path of the Jedi. Since Rey failed to convince him to help the resistance and convert his nephew, she left Luke. Ultimately, Luke still helped the Resistance by using the Force Projection ability to distract Kylo Ren and the First Order. Thereby he helped the resistance to escape. Then he became one with power and died.
A year later, he appeared to his former padawan student Rey on Ahch-To as a power spirit and handed her his sister's lightsaber. When she forgave the lightsabers of the Skywalker twins on Tatooine after defeating the First Order and the Emperor, Luke appeared again with his sister Leia.
Luke Skywalker was portrayed in the films by Mark Hamill . In German he was spoken by Hans-Georg Panczak .
For his role as Luke Skywalker , Mark Hamill received the Saturn Award for Best Actor in 1980 and 1983 . In 1977 he was nominated for the same category.
Mace Windu
Appearances:
- Episodes: I , II , III , IX (voice)
- Series: The Clone Wars
Mace Windu (* 72 VSY on Haruun Kal ; † 19 VSY on Coruscant ) was one of the most important Jedi masters of the Old Republic and probably one of the most powerful Jedi of all time. Windu was a hero of the Clone Wars, fought numerous battles against the Separatists and was a member of the Jedi Council.
During the separatists' blockade of Naboo , Windu was one of the few who viewed the training of young Anakin Skywalker with skepticism and initially voted against placing the boy under the wing of Qui-Gon Jinn .
Shortly before the end of the Clone Wars, Windu learned from Anakin that Chancellor Palpatine was really the wanted Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Together with the Jedi masters Agen Kolar, Kit Fisto and Saesee Tiin, Windu went to the office of the chancellor to arrest him. In the ensuing fight with the Chancellor, Windu was the only one who managed to defeat the Sith in a lightsaber duel. He was able to gain the upper hand in the duel, but attacked Anakin Skywalker before he could kill him and severed Windu's right hand. Defenseless without his lightsaber, he was hit by lightning bolts of Darth Sidious' power and finally thrown out of the window, whereupon he fell into the depths of Coruscant .
Mace Windu was portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson . When Jackson asked if he could get a purple lightsaber while shooting Episode II , Windu is the only character who fights with a purple lightsaber in addition to the standard colors of green, red and blue in the films. On Samuel L. Jackson's lightsaber prop, the words are written in aurebesh (the basic language of the Star War universe); " Bad Motherfucker, " which is a reference to Quentin Tarantino 's Pulp Fiction , in which Jackson played a leading role.
Obi-Wan / Ben Kenobi
Appearances:
Obi-Wan Kenobi (* 57 VSY on Stewjon; † 0 VSY on the 1st Death Star ) was a Jedi master who was trained by Qui-Gon Jinn . Obi-Wan first killed the Sith Darth Maul over Naboo after he killed his master. He was then raised to the rank of Jedi Knight. After Qui-Gon's death, Obi-Wan took over the training of Anakin Skywalker , as this was Qui-Gon's last wish. He thought Anakin was the chosen one to bring the balance of power, which Obi-Wan initially doubted.
Ten years later, Obi-Wan was supposed to ensure the safety of Senator Padmé , as she had only narrowly escaped an assassination attempt shortly before. Afterwards, a trail led him to the planet Kamino , where he met the bounty hunter Jango Fett and found a secret army of clones that was supposedly produced for the Galactic Republic. He then ended up in Geonosis in pursuit of the bounty hunter . There he had to fight for his life in the arena after the former Jedi and current Sith Lord Count Dooku had captured him. During the time of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan was active in numerous missions for the Jedi Order, most recently as General of the Republic.
After three years he had become one of the most famous Jedi masters and was a member of the Jedi Council. He and Anakin had achieved great fame in the Clone Wars. With him he was also responsible for the hunt for Darth Tyranus and the liberation of Chancellor Palpatine. In doing so, Anakin proved to be increasingly superior to his master, whose life he repeatedly saved. On Utapau Obi-Wan placed the separatist leader Grievous and defeated him.
When Anakin fell to the dark side and killed all Jedi in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant , Obi-Wan Kenobi tried to convert him on the planet Mustafar and lead him back to the light side. Kenobi failed, however, and then led a duel with Anakin, in which the latter was defeated by him and remained seriously injured on the edge of a lava flow. Believing he had fatally wounded Anakin, Kenobi traveled with Padmé, who was injured by Anakin, to the remote asteroid field Polis Massa. There Padmé gave birth to her twins Luke and Leia and subsequently died. Kenobi took Luke with him to Tatooine and placed him in the care of his uncle Owen Lars and his wife Beru . For the next several years, Obi-Wan stayed on Tatooine, waiting for the day Luke could be trained as a Jedi. He also learned through Yoda the art of communicating with his late master Qui-Gon. During this time he lived in seclusion under the name Ben Kenobi .
Nineteen years after Luke was born, the Empire became aware of the planet Tatooine. Luke's uncle and aunt were murdered by Imperial stormtroopers. From that moment on, Obi-Wan took over the training of Luke Skywalker. The two met shortly before, when Obi-Wan rescued Luke from a horde of Sand People. Obi-Wan led Luke into his hut and handed him his father's lightsaber, the one he had brought with him after the duel with Anakin. He made Luke believe his father had died fighting the Empire, taught Luke how to use the lightsaber, instructed him in the Force and initially supported him in the fight against Darth Vader, who Anakin had become. Obi-Wan was defeated during a fight with Vader on the first Death Star to enable Luke and his companions to escape. Then his body dissolved. This made Obi-Wan Kenobi one with power.
From then on, Luke Skywalker kept hearing Obi-Wan's voice. He directed Luke to Dagobah to complete his Jedi training through Yoda. After Yoda died of old age, Obi-Wan told Luke the truth about his father's identity and that Leia was his sister. He implored Luke to face Darth Vader, only that would bring him the skills of a Jedi Knight. After defeating the Empire, Luke could see that Obi-Wan, Anakin and Yoda were now reunited in power. Years later, Rey heard the echo of Kenobi's voice after she touched Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber.
Obi-Wan Kenobi was played by Ewan McGregor ( Episodes I through III ) and Alec Guinness ( Episodes IV through VI ). Philipp Moog lent him the German voice in McGregor's portrayal as well as in The Clone Wars , Ernst Wilhelm Borchert spoke Guinness' portrayal, while Christian Rode took on this in Rebels . For Episode VII , an old clay snippet by Alec Guinness and a newly recorded text by Ewan McGregor were used. In Rebels , James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan) and Stephan Stanton (Ben) gave the character their voices.
For his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi , Alec Guinness was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in 1978 . In 1977 he received the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor . Ewan McGregor was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor for the same role in 2000.
Padmé Amidala
Appearances:
- Episodes: I , II , III
- Series: The Clone Wars , The Forces Of Destiny
Padmé Amidala (* 46 VSY as Padmé Amidala Naberrie on Naboo ; † 19 VSY on Polis Massa ) was the Queen and later Senator of Naboo . The Naboo crisis fell during her reign . The Trade Federation captured the Queen in order to take control of the planet. However, she was freed by Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi and escaped to Tatooine with two maids and some members of the life guards . At that time, she unnoticed swapped roles with one of her maids to protect herself. Contrary to the wishes of the false queen and her bodyguard, Padmé accompanied the Jedi to Mos Espa, one of the cities of the desert planet. There she met nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker , his mother Shmi and the droid C-3PO , who helped them repair the ship that was damaged in the escape from Naboo. Since Anakin showed a great potential for power, he was ransomed by Qui-Gon from his master Watto and accompanied them to Coruscant .
Once on the planet, Padmé issued a vote of no confidence in the incumbent Chancellor Valorum , as he was unable to end the Naboo crisis due to the influence of the bureaucrats. So she enabled Senator Palpatine to come to power. Upon returning to Naboo, Padme convinced the local Gungans to fight the Trade Federation. In the end, the two previously quarreled peoples managed to defeat the battle droids of the Trade Federation and restore peace.
Ten years later, Padmé and Anakin saw each other again and fell in love. Padmé was no longer Queen, but Senator of Naboo. They married in secret on Naboo, even if it ran counter to the Jedi code of conduct to which Anakin was bound.
Padmé became pregnant and watched with concern as Anakin indulged more and more of his feelings. After hearing from Obi-Wan that he had fallen into the dark side, she traveled to Mustafar to find her husband. There she was injured by Anakin after an argument. Obi-Wan rescued her after defeating Anakin and brought her to safety in Polis Massa . Shortly afterwards, she gave birth to her children, twins Luke and Leia . After the birth, Padmé died because she had lost Anakin and with him her will to live. The children were then raised separately to hide them from their father, who survived the fight against Obi-Wan.
Padmé Amidala was portrayed by Natalie Portman . Her German dubbing voice lent her Manja Doering . For her role as Padmé Amidala Natalie Portman was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Actress in 2000. 2003 and 2005 in the category for best leading actress
Poe Dameron
Appearances:
- Episodes: VII , VIII , IX
- Series: Rebels (voice), Resistance
Before joining the resistance as a pilot, Poe Dameron (* 2 NSY on Yavin IV ) led an uncivilized life on the street as a member of a criminal gang of spice smugglers on the planet Kijimi . There he lived in a relationship with the smuggler Zorii Bliss , but from whom he separated and eventually joined the New Republic and the resistance under Leia Organa. From this he was sent in the year 34 NSY, to meet on the planet Jakku with a friend of Leia. Through Lor San Tekka he came into possession of a map that led to the missing Jedi master Luke Skywalker, but had to hand it over to BB-8 because the First Order was on his heels. Poe was captured by Kylo Ren and tortured and interrogated by him on the Star Destroyer Finalizer . The deserted stormtrooper Finn freed him shortly afterwards and together they returned to Jakku , where BB-8 was still staying. They managed to escape, but Poe was separated from Finn by a crash landing. He later saved the lives of his squadron, Finn, Chewbacca and Han Solo on Takodana , who had been caught by a First Order attack. After hitting BB-8 again, Poe participated in the plan to destroy the First Order Starkiller Base. Poe led the attack with his squadron X-wing and managed to destroy the planet. However, the First Order was able to locate the resistance base and the planet had to be evacuated. In the ensuing Battle of D'Qar , Poe and a Resistance bomber squadron succeeded in destroying a First Order battleship, which, however, resulted in great losses of its own and due to his ignorant approach he was later demoted by Leia Organa. After Leia's severe wounding, Vice Admiral Holdo took command, which he distrusted. Poe dispatched Finn, Rose and BB-8 on a secret mission to Canto Bight and led a mutiny aboard the Raddus to buy more time for his friends. However, after their mission failed and Poe's mutiny was ended by the resurgent Leia, he helped the resistance in the Battle of Crait and realized that sometimes it makes more sense to take an orderly retreat than seek direct confrontation. When Luke Skywalker's power projection reached Crait, Poe was one of the first to understand that this was a diversionary maneuver by the Jedi Master and initiated the escape from the mine of the resistance base. During this escape he was able to prove his leadership skills to Leia. After the successful escape, he met Falken in the Millennium , and finally the Jedi student Rey.
A year after the Battle of Crait, Poe flew to Sinta Glacier Colony as a pilot of the Millennium Falcon , where he learned that a senior First Order officer was now working as a spy for the Resistance. When the news spread that the Emperor had returned, Poe traveled with Rey and Finn, among others, to Pasaana , where he and his friends were looking for Palpatine's Sith Pathfinder. On the mission to reprogram C-3PO so that it could translate old Sith runes, Poe ended up back in Kijimi after many years, where he promptly met his old comrades and Zorii Bliss. The latter presented him with a stolen First Order officer badge, which enabled him to land in enemy ships. With the help of General Hux , who had revealed himself to be the wanted spy, Poe and Finn managed to escape from the star destroyer Steadfast after successfully rescuing Chewbacca, who had previously been captured . After learning that Leia Organa had died, Poe rose to head the resistance, but shared command with Finn. As the new leader of the resistance, he followed the signal from Rey, with the entire resistance fleet, to Exegol, where the final battle against the First Order and Emperor Palpatine's Sith fleet took place.
Poe Dameron was portrayed by Oscar Isaac . Alexander Doering lent him his voice in the German version.
Qui-Gon Jinn
Appearances:
- Episodes: I , II (voice), IX (voice)
- Series: The Clone Wars , Rebels (voice)
Qui-Gon Jinn (* 92 VSY on Coruscant ; † 32 VSY on Naboo ) was a wise but headstrong Jedi master and mentor of Obi-Wan Kenobi . Because of his selfishness and the constant opposition to the decisions of the Jedi Council, Qui-Gon was never accepted into it. It was he who thought the young Anakin Skywalker was the chosen one and wanted to train him as a Jedi.
Qui-Gon was an excellent fighter and the master of Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was the student of Count Dooku , who fell into the dark side of the Force after Qui-Gon's death and became Darth Tyranus. Qui-Gon had a green lightsaber. He and Obi-Wan investigated the crisis on Naboo , where the Trade Federation had put up a blockade. After military action began to take control of the planet, the Jedi freed Queen Amidala and helped her escape. In order to repair their damaged ship, they landed on Tatooine and Qui-Gon encountered the slave boy Anakin Skywalker. He recognized the extraordinary strength of Force in Anakin and came to believe that Anakin was the chosen one to defeat the Sith and bring the balance to power. He then decided to take him to Coruscant and train as a Jedi. By making a bet with Anakin's Master Watto in conjunction with the pod race that Anakin eventually won, Qui-Gon freed the boy from his slavery. Before he fled to Coruscant with Anakin, Obi-Wan, the Queen and their guards, he fought against the dark Sith student Darth Maul , who was pursuing the Queen. When he introduced Anakin to the Jedi Council on Coruscant, the council initially refused to train the boy to be a Jedi because he was too old. After the queen had decided to return to Naboo to free the planet from the occupation, Qui-Gon was sent together with Obi-Wan to accompany them back there. There he was later killed in a lightsaber duel against Darth Maul, but gave Obi-Wan in the dying on to take over Anakin's training. During the Clone Wars, Qui-Gon managed to discover the path to immortality and become one with the Force. So, even though he was dead, he could speak to Anakin, Yoda, and Obi-Wan through the Force .
Qui-Gon Jinn was portrayed by Liam Neeson in Episode I. Bernd Rumpf spoke him in German . For his role as Qui-Gon Jinn , Liam Neeson was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Actor in 2000.
R2-D2
Appearances:
- Episodes: I , II , III , IV , V , VI , VII , VIII , IX
- Anthology: Rogue One
- Series: The Clone Wars , Rebels , The Forces of Fate
R2-D2 (pronounced: er-zwo de-zwo [English (phonetic): Artoo-Detoo]) was an intelligent and courageous astromech droid that could repair spaceships as a mechanic. Astromech droids had many functions and were used, among other things, on space fighters to control them in the event of failure of the living pilot or to repair small things in flight. The 1.09 meter tall R2-D2 can only whistle. His language is often translated by his inseparable friend C-3PO . If R2-D2 is used as a helper in a spaceship, the on-board computer translates the language for the pilot. However , after years of working together, Anakin Skywalker and later his son Luke were able to interpret most of his sounds.
During the Naboo crisis, Queen Padmé Amidala fled to Coruscant to seek help against the blockade of the trade federation. The ship was damaged during their escape, but R2-D2 was able to keep it airworthy. On Tatooine he made the acquaintance of another droid named C-3PO, which he met several times. He also accompanied Anakin as a co-pilot in a Naboo star fighter in the Battle of Naboo, with which they were able to free the planet.
R2-D2 later traveled with Anakin and Padmé to Naboo, where she hid from the separatist assassination attempts. When Anakin's mother, Shmi Skywalker , was kidnapped by Sandpeople on Tatooine, Anakin tried to free her, but was late. Shortly thereafter, his master Obi-Wan Kenobi was captured on a reconnaissance mission on Geonosis . R2-D2 got there with Anakin, Padmé and C-3PO - with whom he had forged a kind of friendship - and freed him with the help of the Jedi and Clone Warriors.
At the end of the Clone Wars he fought in Anakin's space fighter in the Battle of Coruscant. When his master was seduced to the dark side of power and the republic was overthrown under the name of Darth Vader, he passed into the possession of the republic-loyal Senator Bail Organa and later that of his adopted daughter Leia .
In the galactic civil war that followed, he played an important role in the fight against the Galactic Empire, which had replaced the Republic under the leadership of Vader and his master Darth Sidious . He brought the plans for the Death Star, a space station with enormous firepower, to the Rebel Alliance and met Luke Skywalker . He accompanied him in many battles, including on Hoth and Endor .
Many years later, R2-D2 stood at the side of its owner Luke Skywalker when his nephew Ben Solo destroyed the new Jedi Academy. Before Luke went into exile, he left a part of the map in R2 that led to Ahch-To . Until the destruction of the Starkiller base, R2 was in standby mode and activated after many years of absence to complete the map. He accompanied Rey Skywalker to Ahch-To, where he was able to persuade his former owner Luke through the old hologram Leia Organas after the Battle of Scarif to train Rey in the teachings of the Jedi.
Shortly before the Battle of Exegol , R2-D2 was able to return his deleted memory to his friend C-3PO with a backup copy , which Babu Frik had recently reprogrammed to translate runes from the Sith language. R2-D2 was there as the Resistance celebrated victory over the First Order and Emperor Palpatine .
In Episodes IV - VI , R2-D2 only moved with his caster feet. In episodes I - III it is also possible for him to move on the fly through propulsion jets. The droid was played by the actor Kenny Baker , who died in 2016 and who measured 111 cm. From Episode VII , Jimmy Vee took over this role. Alternatively, it can also be controlled remotely or animated. The voice of R2-D2 is partly composed of the voice of the sound designer Ben Burtt and noises that were generated with an ARP-2600 synthesizer. R2-D2 was an unusual astromech droid in that it could do tasks better than normal astromech; In addition, R2-D2 had a myriad of tools and a highly intelligent computer unit with a large data memory.
It got its name from the clay cutter Walter Murch , who worked with Lucas on his film American Graffiti in 1973 . When he Lucas, who already on the script of the first Star Wars film after the (film) wrote the same time, R olle 2 with D ialogspur 2 (English: Reel 2, dialogues Track 2) , shortly R-2-D-2 , asked, he listened up and said: "Great name" and put it in the script. Lucas has modeled the characters R2-D2 and C-3PO from the crooks Tahei and Matashichi from Akira Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress , which enable the author to use a certain narrative technique from the perspective of the paired characters.
The Volkssternwarte Zweibrücken looks like a big brother of R2-D2.
Rey Skywalker
Appearances:
- Episodes: VII , VIII , IX
- Series: The Forces of Fate , Rebels (voice)
Rey Skywalker (* 15 NSY as Rey Palpatine ; † 35 NSY on Exegol ; revived) was initially a power-sensitive junk collector. Her father was a failed clone - and thus the Emperor's son, Sheev Palpatine . Since Palpatine felt the immense power in his granddaughter and saw in her his heir to the throne, he sent the assassin Ochi von Bestoon to Jakku, where he was supposed to kidnap Rey. Rey's parents learned of the Emperor's order and hid their daughter on the desert planet Jakku. Ochi von Bestoon killed Rey's parents and from the age of five Rey grew up alone on Jakku and lived in an old AT-AT. Unable to remember the events of her childhood in her youth and early adulthood, Rey constantly waited for her parents to return.
One day she met the droid BB-8 , who was carrying a map that led to the missing Jedi master Luke Skywalker and was supposed to deliver it to the resistance. When she met the deserted stormtrooper Finn afterwards , they fled Jakku together and came into contact with the resistance. He fought against the successor to the Galactic Empire, the First Order. While participating in the attack on the First Order base with Han Solo , Chewbacca, and Finn, she met Kylo Ren , who killed Han Solo and seriously injured Finn. She had previously received Luke Skywalker's old lightsaber, which once belonged to his father Anakin , with which she now attacked Kylo Ren and in turn injured him. However, as the Starkiller Base of the First Order began to explode from the onslaught of the resistance, Rey had to withdraw; she fled aboard the Millennium Falcon . Shortly afterwards she went together with Chewbacca and R2-D2 to Ahch-To to seek the help of Luke Skywalker there. To her surprise, however, she found that she did not find the Jedi Master she had expected. Luke initially refused to train Rey on the grounds of grave allegations about his former student and nephew, Ben Solo , whose training he believed he had failed. After Luke reluctantly taught her about the Force and explained to her why the Jedi era must end, Rey mysteriously had multiple Force connections with Kylo Ren. Hidden from Luke for the time being, Rey developed an intimate relationship with Kylo Ren and got to know him better through the connections. When Luke caught Rey talking to Kylo Ren, the Jedi ordered her to leave the island. Without Luke, she finally set out to face Kylo Ren, who she believed would join her and turn his back on the First Order. On board the Supremacy , the ship of Supreme Leader Snoke , however, she found that she was unsuccessful in this regard. After Kylo Ren murdered his master, they fought and defeated his bodyguards together. Kylo Ren told Rey after the fight that her parents were simple junk collectors who, according to Kylo Ren, would have sold their daughter for money on Jakku. In a subsequent duel for Anakin Skywalker's former lightsaber , it was destroyed before the Supremacy was badly damaged by Vice Admiral Holdo . Rey escaped from the collapsing ship and helped the resistance on Crait escape from the First Order troops before leaving the planet aboard the Millennium Falcon along with Chewbacca, Leia Organa , Poe Dameron , Finn, BB ‑ 8, R2 ‑ D2, C -3PO and all other members of the resistance.
A year after the Battle of Crait, Rey continued to be trained in the teachings of the Jedi by Leia Organa on Ajan Kloss . When the resistance learned that Darth Sidious, believed to be dead, had returned, Rey set out with Finn, Poe Dameron and Chewbacca, as well as the droids C-3PO and BB-8, to find an old Sith pathfinder who could find the whereabouts of the Imperators betrayed. Rey was recently able to find records of that relic in the Jedi scriptures. Once on Pasaana, Rey experienced a renewed power connection with Kylo Ren for the first time in a long time. In the desert of the planet, Rey and her companions found Ochi's dagger, which had also murdered her parents with it. When she discovered a wounded Vexis snake in a cave, she was able to use the power to heal it from its injuries. In the desert of the planet she met Kylo Ren, who knew of her origin and therefore wants to test her on her dark side in power. That test succeeded, and Rey inadvertently wrecked a First Order transport with a volley of lightning bolts. When Rey and her companions infiltrated the Star Destroyer Steadfast via Kijimi to free the captured Chewbacca from the clutches of the First Order, she had a second power connection with Kylo Ren, with whom she was able to duel for the first time over power. A short time later, Kylo Ren told Rey about her true origins. In the wreckage of the second Death Star on Kef Bir , Rey finally found the pathfinder and encountered a dark vision of herself. In the former throne room of Palpatines, she met Kylo Ren again, who shortly thereafter destroyed the Pathfinder in order to set off for Exegol with Rey . In a duel against him, Rey managed to stab Kylo, as he was haunted by a power connection of his mother. However, Rey healed this with the Force and fled with his TIE hunter to the island of their deceased master in Ahch-To. When she gave up on herself there and wanted to burn the lightsaber of Anakin Skywalker, the spirit of power of Luke Skywalker appeared to her, who spoke to her conscience and handed her the old lightsaber from Leia Organa. With her master's old X-wing and the burned pathfinder from Kylo Ren's TIE fighter, Rey finally set off for Exegol. There she met her grandfather, who had already expected her, and immediately offered her the throne of the Sith, since according to Palpatine it was her birthright to rule over the new Sith empire. In an occult ritual, Rey was supposed to strike down her grandfather in order to ascend the throne with his spirit within her. But Rey stood against Emperor Palpatine and together with Kylo Ren - who had returned to the light side of the Force as Jedi Knight Ben Solo, they defeated the Emperor's guards and the Knights of Ren. Through Palpatine, Rey learned that she and Ben Solo formed a dyad in power and therefore had shared ties. With this new knowledge, the Emperor began to train Rey and Ben Solo in the life energy. After Rey was immensely weakened, she heard the voices of all Jedi from bygone times, which gave her new strength. In a final battle, Rey managed to kill her grandfather Emperor Palpatine with the lightsabers of Luke and Leia, but she herself died in the destruction of the throne room by a shock wave of lightning bolts. However, Rey was brought back to life by Ben Solo by transferring all of his life energy into her. She shared a short kiss with Ben Solo, who died from the immense loss of strength a short time later and became one with the force.
After the triumph over Palpatine and the First Order, Rey returned to Ajan Kloss with Luke's X-wing and celebrated the victory together with all resistance fighters and their friends. A little later, Rey went to the home world of the Skywalkers, Tatooine, and looked for the abandoned wet farm of Owen Lars . There she buried the Skywalker twins' lightsabers in the sand and met the power spirits of Luke Skywalker and the previously deceased Leia. Rey decided to call Rey Skywalker in memory of the two .
Rey was portrayed in episodes VII-IX by Daisy Ridley , in a vision of power in episodes VII and IX she was played by Cailey Fleming as a five-year-old girl. Her German dubbing voice is Kaya Marie Möller .
Yoda
Appearances:
- Episodes: I , II , III , V , VI , VIII , IX (voice)
- Series: The Clone Wars , Rebels , The Forces of Fate
Yoda (* 896 VSY; † 4 NSY on Dagobah ) belonged to an unknown species, was 66 cm tall and was 900 years old at the end of his life. In over 800 years as a Jedi (grand) master, he had trained numerous students in the use of power, including a. Luke Skywalker and Count Dooku , and were masters of the lightsaber. He also had a strong connection to power that was only matched by Anakin Skywalker . With Mace Windu he was the head of the Jedi Council and one of the wisest and most powerful Jedi masters of all time. When the Emperor Palpatine wanted to rule the Galactic Republic, the corrupted Anakin Skywalker destroyed the Jedi Order on his behalf. Only Yoda, Anakin's master Obi-Wan Kenobi and a few other Jedi survived. Yoda was defeated in an attempt to kill the Emperor and withdrew into exile.
While Kenobi was hiding on Tatooine , Yoda withdrew to Dagobah . Years later, Luke Skywalker went to this planet at the direction of Obi-Wan Kenobi's power phenomenon and began training as a Jedi Knight with Yoda. The last time Luke visited Dagobah, Yoda died of old age when he was exactly 900 years old. As a result, Yoda, like Obi-Wan before, became one with power and later appeared as an apparition of power together with Anakin Skywalker, who was converted by his son Luke, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
30 years later, Yoda's ghost reappeared to Luke Skywalker, in his exile on Ahch-To. He assured Skywalker that failure was an integral part of every Jedi and was instrumental in convincing Luke to support the resistance.
Yoda was piloted as a doll by Frank Oz and spoken in the original English; it stands out particularly for its idiosyncratic grammar, the most striking feature of which is the word order, which is often in the form of object-subject-verb (example: “You still have a lot to learn”). The original design for the figure was by Stuart Freeborn . During the filming of The Empire Strikes Back , the make-up artist Nick Maley ("That Yoda Guy") was involved in creating the character.
While Yoda was always a physical puppet in the classic trilogy and in Episode I (except for one scene at the end of the film), in Episodes II and III he is a completely digitized character, which gave George Lucas the opportunity to use Yoda in action scenes integrate. The lightsaber duel between Yoda and Count Dooku was based on these new possibilities. On the Blu-ray and in the 3D cinema version , Yoda is also shown in Episode I as a computer-generated figure. In the non-digitized version of Episode I , the doll model is also different from the one used in Episode V and VI . A doll was used again in Episode VIII .

- Anthology: Solo
Tobias Beckett († 10 VSY on Savareen ) was born on Glee Anselm and was known as a notorious crook and criminal.
In the days of the Galactic Empire, Beckett was hired by the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate to rob an Imperial truck full of coaxium. With his lover Val and the Ardennian Rio Durant , Beckett infiltrated the Imperial infantry and fought more or less voluntarily as a captain in the Battle of Mimban . Together with his crew, he succeeded in capturing an imperial transport ship and escaped from the planet with the deserted soldier Han Solo and the Wookie Chewbacca . In the Vandor Mountains , Beckett led the robbery on the Imperial freight train and gave Han Solo his DL-44 blaster pistol. The robbery on the train failed, however, because the pirate Enfys Nest and her gang intervened in the raid and inadvertently destroyed the trailer with the Coaxium. His comrades Val and Rio were killed in the attack by the sky dogs . After his unsuccessful job, he managed to persuade his client Dryden Vos to risk another Coaxium robbery in the mines of Kessel with a fast ship. Together with Han Solo, Chewbaca and the Crimson Dawn employee Qi'ra , Beckett hired the smuggler Lando Calrissian to fly to Kessel with his ship, the Millennium Falcon . When Kessel arrived, the robbery, this time of raw Coaxium, was carried out successfully. On the planet Savareen, Tobias Beckett finally met Enfys Nest again, who turned out to be the leader of an alliance against Crimson Dawn and part of a young rebellion. Since Beckett was only looking for his own advantage, he cheated on Han Solo and then Dryden Vos shortly afterwards only in a short time. In a final confrontation with Han Solo, he was surprisingly shot dead during a conversation before he could take up a gun himself.
Several rumors circulating in the galaxy said that Tobias Beckett killed the bounty hunter Aurra Sing . However, he himself never confirmed this rumor, but merely reported how he pushed the bounty hunter and how she might have died from the fall.
In the film Solo: A Star Wars Story Tobias Beckett is played by Woody Harrelson , his German dubbing voice was spoken by Thomas Nero Wolff .
Antagonists
Darth Vader
Armitage Hux
Appearances:
- Episodes: VII , VIII , IX
- Series: Resistance
General Armitage Hux (* approx. 0 VSY on Arkanis; † 35 NSY on Steadfast via Kijimi ) was a high-ranking general of the First Order, under whose command the Starkiller base was, which was also destroyed under his command. In his childhood, Armitage Hux was subjected to numerous abuse by his father Brendol Hux, who had his son out of wedlock with a kitchen maid. Despite the bad relationship with his father, Hux founded with him, sometimes the First Order from the remnants of the Galactic Empire and helped Brendol to recruit child soldiers for the First Order military. After Hux had secretly murdered his own father, he took over his post and since then has supervised and led the training of the stormtroopers together with Captain Phasma .
In 34 NSY, Hux oversaw the mission to track down the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker's last surviving Jedi . He later received the order from leader Snoke to destroy the worlds of the New Republic with the super weapon of the Starkiller base . That day he gave a historical speech to the First Order Army and had the planets of the Hosnian system wiped out. During the attack of the resistance and the subsequent destruction of the Starkiller base , he fled from the colliding planet together with Kylo Ren, who was injured in battle . Hux returned to his flagship Finalizer and shortly thereafter launched an attack on the planet D'Qar , where the Resistance had established its base. Hux coordinated the battle against the resistance fleet and began to chase the surviving resistors through space for a long time. After leader Snoke's unexpected death, Hux and Captain Phasma were able to briefly capture the resisters disguised as First Order officers, Rose Tico and the deserted stormtrooper Finn , on advice from the code breaker DJ . Then Hux joined the new leader of the First Order, Kylo Ren, in the pursuit of the resistance, which had hidden in an old rebel base on the mineral world of Crait .
When Kylo Ren took command of the First Order after the death of Snoke, General Hux turned more and more from the ideology of the First Order and abandoned his former goal of victory more and more. Hux now began secretly to pass on information to the resistance, since he saw no future for the First Order under Ren and his later pact with Emperor Palpatine . From then on he concentrated solely on hindering the work of his rival and sabotaging him in his project.
Hux eventually became a spy in 35 NSY, who conveyed news to the resistance under Leia Organa that the emperor believed to be dead on the Sith world, Exegol, had returned with a new fleet of ships. When the resisters Finn and Poe Dameron freed the captured Chewbacca from Kylo Ren's lead ship, General Hux helped them escape and was deliberately injured so that he had an alleged alibi to show. However, Honorary General Pryde discovered his secret and killed him for his betrayal.
Hux always had a very tense relationship with Kylo Ren during his lifetime. When the First Order was under Snoke's command , Hux and Ren often fought for the Supreme Leader's favor, trying to weaken each other through taunts and feuds. Hux knew that Kylo Ren believed strongly that, as a First Order soldier, to avoid desertions, Snoke should have created clone soldiers, and was grievously offended every time Ren questioned the capabilities of his stormtroopers. Likewise, he did not believe that he often wore a mask and accordingly often made fun of his appearance. Shortly after finding his arch rival, who had previously unknowingly killed Snoke, passed out in the throne room on the Supremacy , Hux briefly toyed with the idea of killing Kylo Ren. But he woke up before Hux could pull out his blaster.
Armitage Hux is played by Domhnall Gleeson in episodes VII- IX and dubbed in the German version by Sebastian Schulz .
Darth Maul
Appearances:
- Episodes: I.
- Anthology: Solo
- Series: The Clone Wars , Rebels
Darth Maul (* 54 VSY on Dathomir ; † 2 VSY on Tatooine ), later just Maul, was a Sith as the student of Darth Sidious and later a feared criminal as the leader of Crimson Dawn . The Zabrak from the planet Dathomir was tasked with ensuring the success of the blockade of Naboo . He was supposed to kill Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi and get the Queen of Naboo to sign the Trade Federation treaty that legitimized the blockade. When retaking the Theed Palace, he placed them and managed to separate the two Jedi during the battle, which gave him a distinct advantage. He was able to fatally wound Qui-Gon Jinn in a duel, but was then defeated by Obi-Wan and believed dead by the Jedi after falling into a shaft.
Maul survived Obi-Wan's fatal attack and was rescued by a snake-like creature who provided him with a mechanical abdomen, similar to a spider, and took him to the planet Lotho Minor. However, Maul fell into madness and lived there underground until his clan brother Savage Opress stumbled upon his trail and healed him of his confusion with clan mother Talzin. It turns out that Maul, despite his mental derangement, had never forgotten the thought of revenge on Obi-Wan Kenobi and now tried to retaliate against the Jedi together with his clan brother. To get revenge on Obi-Wan, he killed, among other things, Obi-Wan's great love Satine Kryze, the Duchess of Mandalore , in front of his eyes. Eventually Savage was killed by Darth Sidious, who had heard of Maul's survival, and Maul was tortured by him. After being freed by a Mandalorian group, he fought the separatists again. He succeeded, among other things, in capturing General Grievous and helping mother Talzin to regain a solid body, but Grievous was freed by Dooku and mother Talzin was killed again.
Maul was able to flee and in the following years built up his own criminal syndicate, which was called Crimson Dawn . Together with the gangster Dryden Vos and his close confidante Qi'ra , he was responsible for numerous crimes in the galaxy. After Qi'ra had killed Dryden Vos after several tumultuous events, Maul asked her to come to him in Dathomir.
Furthermore, Maul was apparently very closely involved with the knowledge of the Sith. When he (presumably to find a Sith holocron) visited the ancient planet Malachor, his ship crashed and he was stuck there from then on. The empire, now proclaimed by Darth Sidious, could follow his trail to there; an inquisitor with the code name Eighth Brother was summoned to look for Maul. Five years before the Battle of Yavin, Maul met the Jedi padawan Ezra Bridger , who had come there with Kanan Jarrus and Ahsoka Tano, and tried to make him his apprentice and with his help obtain the knowledge from the holocron. He managed to blind Kanan Jarrus, but was stopped by Kanan Jarrus anyway. After the temple on Malachor was destroyed, Maul was able to flee with an inquisitor's ship. In the following years it was his goal to track down his old enemy Obi-Wan Kenobi and kill him. After confronting him on Tatooine , he was mortally wounded after a brief fight by Kenobi and died in his arms, knowing that Anakin Skywalker was the chosen one to balance the power.
Actor Ray Park was selected for the role of Darth Maul because of his skills as a swordsman and stuntman . However, his vocal skills were insufficient for his role. This was mainly due to his pronounced Scottish accent. Maul's voice was therefore spoken in the original English by the British actor Peter Serafinowicz , but Maul speaks only a few sentences in the entire film anyway. In the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels, however, Sam Witwer lends the character the voice. The duo Park and Witwer embodied Maul in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story .
Ben Solo / Kylo Ren
Appearances:
- Episodes: VII , VIII , IX
- Series: Rebels (voice), Star Wars Resistance
Kylo Ren (* 5 NSY as Ben Solo on Chandrila; † 35 NSY on Exegol ) was the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa . In early adulthood he began his Jedi training under his uncle Luke Skywalker in his academy. During this training, young Ben began to hear more and more voices in his head that tried to seduce him to the dark side. All of these voices turned out many years later to be a plan by Emperor Palpatine . Manipulated by these voices and belief in his grandfather's legacy, Anakin Skywalker , Ben eventually fell for the dark side and became the apprentice of Supreme Leader Snoke . Ben became the master of the Knights of Ren and called himself Kylo Ren from then on.
Kylo became Commander of the First Order and made it his goal to kill his former master Luke Skywalker and thus wipe out the Jedi Order. Like the Resistance under his mother's leadership, he was looking for Skywalker, who had withdrawn to the unknown parts of the galaxy after Ben's betrayal. So he learned of a map that was supposed to lead to the Jedi, but was in the hands of the resistance. Despite the capture and interrogation of Poe Dameron and Rey , he was unable to trace the map. When the Resistance launched an attack on the Starkiller First Order base, he met his father again, who wanted to bring him back to the light side. Kylo killed him with his lightsaber after an internal conflict and was seriously injured in the ensuing fight between him and Rey. He managed to escape from the slowly imploding base, while Rey and the deserted stormtrooper Finn escaped with Solo co-pilot Chewbacca . After Kylo Ren was reprimanded for his failure aboard the Supremacy , the flagship of his master Snoke, and realized that he had killed his father for nothing, he developed a chronic hatred of his master and destroyed his helmet in a fit of rage. He later led the fleet's attack on the fleeing resistance ships in his TIE silencer . As a result, he noticed a power bond with Rey, who a little later placed himself on board the Supremacy in the hope of being able to convert him to the bright side. Kylo Ren took them to his master, who was responsible for the power bond, to test his student and his loyalty. Snoke ordered him to kill Rey, whereupon he deceived his master instead, killed him and made himself the new Supreme Leader. Along with Rey, he defeated Snoke's bodyguards, but did not join her. At Kylo's command, First Order forces attacked Crait , where the resistance survivors were hiding. During the fight, Kylo Ren confronted his former master Luke Skywalker, but soon realized that he was only standing in his way with the help of a force projection while he was himself on Ahch-To . Kylo was therefore unable to defeat Skywalker, who then became one with the Force. This earned enough time for the Resistance to leave the planet in time with Rey. During the Resistance's escape, Kylo experienced another power connection with Rey despite Snoke's death.
A year later, Kylo Ren became aware of the mysterious radio message from the emperor, who was believed dead, and came into possession of a Sith pathfinder on the planet Mustafar in the ruins of his grandfather's former fortress. With the help of the path finder, Kylo Ren succeeded in locating the secret Sith world Exegol in the Unknown Regions. In a Sith citadel, Kylo met the weakened Emperor Palpatine, who revealed to him that he had been responsible for his renunciation of the light side all along and that he had created Snoke in order to gain new political and military power through it come. Kylo received an offer from Palpatine to take command of the Emperor's Sith fleet for the murder of Rey, who was the Emperor's granddaughter. Shortly before the search for Rey began, Kylo had his destroyed helmet repaired by the Sith alchemist Albrekh. When he was able to find out her whereabouts through another power connection, in which he was able to intervene for the first time through the power in Rey's surroundings, he made his way to the Forbidden Desert of Pasaana . There he got Rey through a maneuver with his TIE Whisperer and a battle with the Force over a flyaway transporter to reveal the dark side within her. Kylo experienced some more power connections with Rey and clarified them at Steadfast about their true origins. After following Rey to Kef Bir into the ruins of the old Death Star, his mother Leia Organa connected with the Force to her son and Rey was able to stab him with his lightsaber. Rey healed Kylo Ren through power healing and he found his way back to the light side of power after remembering his father Han Solo. Again as Jedi Ben Solo, he hurried to Rey on Exegol to help, where he first learned that his Knights of Ren had also been minions of the Emperor for all these years and had acted in his will. In a fight against his former followers, Ben managed to use his grandfather's lightsaber to kill all of the Knights of Ren. Ben learned from Emperor Palpatine that he and Rey formed a dyad in power and by chance Palpatine found out that he could gain new strength through this dyad. Ben was thrown into an abyss by Palpatine, but was able to save himself with the Force for the time being. After Rey finally destroyed the Emperor in battle and died as a result, Ben Solo transferred his last life energy into her and died after he had shared one last kiss with Rey.
Kylo Ren was portrayed in Episodes VII-IX by Adam Driver . His German voice is Julien Haggège . Adam Driver was named Best Supporting Actor at the 2016 Saturn Awards for his role as Kylo Ren .
Boba Fett
- Episodes: II , IV , V , VI
- Series: The Clone Wars
Boba Fett (* 32 VSY on Kamino ; † 4 NSY on Tatooine ) was one of the best and most successful bounty hunters in the galaxy. He was a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett , who donated his genetic material for the production of clone soldiers. Unlike his clone brothers, Boba was not subjected to a growth process accelerated by chemical substances, but instead demanded from Jango in addition to his fee in return for his services so that he could raise him as a son and heir. Boba was born on Kamino , a planet largely covered with water.
At the beginning of the Clone Wars, Boba Fett watched as a boy how Jedi Master Mace Windu beheaded his father in the Arena of Justice during the Battle of Geonosis.
After Jango's death, the bounty hunter Aurra Sing Boba took in and wanted to help him avenge the murder of his father. When the attempt on Mace Windu failed, she left Boba behind, who was imprisoned in a Republican prison. After his release from prison, Boba began his career as a bounty hunter during the ongoing civil war. His activity as a bounty hunter was not very successful at the time.
After the Clone Wars, he rose to be one of the most successful bounty hunters, in constant competition with Bossk . On behalf of the Empire, he managed to track the Millennium Falcon to Bespin with his ship Slave I. As a reward he received Han Solo frozen in carbonite , which he handed over to Jabba den Hutten in exchange for the bounty on him. However, Solo was freed by Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa . In the fight between Jabba's guards and the fugitives, Boba fell into the Carkoon pit, where he was devoured by a Sarlacc.
In the films, Boba Fett is portrayed at various ages by Daniel Logan and Jeremy Bulloch .
Count Dooku / Darth Tyranus
Appearances:
- Episodes: II , III
- Series: The Clone Wars
Count Dooku of Serenno , alias Darth Tyranus , (* 102 VSY on Serenno; † 19 VSY on the Invisible Hand over Coruscant ) was a Jedi knight and the master of Qui-Gon Jinn . Dooku was the son of Count Gora and Countess Anya. He was also the big brother of Ramil and Jenza. As a young child he was taken to the Jedi Temple, where he was trained by Yoda . After the death of his student Qui-Gon Jinn, he turned away from the Jedi and fell into the dark side of the Force and, as Darth Tyranus, became the disciple of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious.
Tyranus convinced several powerful corporations to turn against the republic. He commissioned the manufacture of large numbers of battle droids and led the armed forces of the Confederation of Independent Star Systems to fight the Republic. His master Darth Sidious wanted to use the civil war that had broken out in the identity of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine as an occasion to grant himself emergency powers and to set up a clone army. In the Clone Wars that followed, Tyranus wiped out both parties so Sidious's takeover would act like a redemption. After the Battle of Geonosis, there was a fight between Darth Tyranus and Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi , in which he got the upper hand. He cut off Anakin's right forearm and incapacitated the Jedi. However, he could not assert himself against his old master Yoda, who intervened in the fight, and fled. During the Battle of Coruscant, Tyranus encountered Obi-Wan and Anakin again, but was defeated by Anakin after wounding Obi-Wan. Tyranus was then beheaded by Anakin Skywalker on the orders of Chancellor Palpatine. This should lead Anakin to the dark side, since Sidious had intended him as his new student.
Tyranus is one of the most powerful and wisest Sith Lords in the saga. Through his connection to the dark side of the Force, he was able to learn many complicated power techniques that were almost on a par with Yoda's abilities. He also used a lightsaber style for hand-to-hand combat. That made it superior to most Jedi whose style focused on fighting soldiers' blasters.
Darth Tyranus is the main antagonist in Episode II and has a brief appearance in Episode III . In both films he was played by the British actor Christopher Lee , who enjoys cult status even after his death in 2015 because of his portrayals of villains .
Dryden Vos
Appearances:
- Anthology: Solo
- Series: The Clone Wars
Dryden Vos († 10 VSY on the First Light on Savareen ) was the head of the criminal crime syndicate Crimson Dawn and was responsible for numerous crimes under the orders of the former Sith Lord Maul , who was the leader of the syndicate. As Lakei von Maul, Vos represented the public face of the syndicate. Vos was an avid art collector and was generally known as a crook with a special charm. Among other things, Vos owned the magnificent yacht First Light , with which he and his followers and Guests, toured many places in the galaxy for his criminal business. Due to the fact that Dryden Vos was in good contact with some Imperial officers, it was not uncommon for him to frequently find out things in common with the Galactic Empire.
Over the years, Vos often clashed with the Pirate Gang of Heavenly Dogs , led by Enfys Nest , and viewed the pirate and her gang as a major nuisance. He had a very close relationship with his colleague Qi'ra . In the year 10 VSY he hired the crew of the gangster Tobias Beckett for a job to steal refined coaxium fuel from an empire freight train. When this attack failed, Vos gave his workers one last chance and sent Qi'ra on another foray with Tobias Beckett, Han Solo and the Wookie Chewbacca . After that coup, his colleague Tobias Beckett betrayed him and disappeared with the stolen Coaxium. Dryden Vos had previously learned from Beckett that Han Solo was planning to hand over the coaxium to Enfys Nest. Due to the shared past with Han Solo and the goal of getting command of Crimson Dawn , Qi'ra turned against Dryden Vos a little later and killed him in a duel.
In Solo: A Star Wars Story Dryden Vos is played by Paul Bettany and his German dubbing voice is Timmo Niesner . In the pre-production of the film, the role was initially planned as a lion- like alien and was to be played by Michael K. Williams . When directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord , who had originally been hired to lead the project, had to leave production with the studios due to creative differences, and Ron Howard took over the direction, they finally decided on a different look and assigned the role to Bettany. The scar-like streaks on the figure's face were created entirely in the computer for the film.

Jabba the Hutte also had a son named Rotta. This was saved from the separatists by the Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi . In gratitude for this - and because they had exposed the traitor Zero the Hutten - the Hutten clan joined the republic until the rise of the empire.
During the Galactic Civil War he entrusted the smuggler Han Solo with a delivery, which he had to give up due to imperial warships. Since Han was in debt as a result, Jabba put a bounty on him. After the bounty hunter Greedo was shot by Han, Boba Fett managed to track down the smuggler. Han Solo, frozen in carbonite, was taken to Jabba's palace. Sheev Palpatine / Darth Sidious
Appearances as Palpatine and Darth Sidious:
- Episodes: I , II , III
- Series: The Clone Wars
Appearances as emperor:
- Series: Rebels
Sheev Palpatine (* 84 VSY on Naboo ; † 4 NSY on the second Death Star over Endor ,? NSY revived, † 35 NSY on Exegol ) was a senator on his home planet Naboo. He was distinguished by particular political skill, which ultimately helped him to the highest office in the Galactic Senate. In his early years he was introduced to the teachings of the Sith by his master Darth Plagueis and grew up to become a powerful Sith lord named Darth Sidious . As a politician and chancellor, he influenced the republic for his own purposes. Sidious proclaimed himself Emperor of the Galactic Empire and ruled the Galactic Empire for over 30 years after completing his plan. About three decades after the fall of his empire, Darth Sidious, who had previously been believed dead, turned out to be the puller of the newly ascended First Order and its leader Snoke . In secret, Sidious devised a new plan to regain absolute control of the Sith Order.
Sidious allied 32 VSY with the Trade Federation to block the peaceful planet Naboo, the home planet of Senator Amidala , allegedly in protest over increasing Senate taxation. The blockade failed, but Sidious used the resulting political turbulence to rise as Senator Palpatine to the position of Supreme Chancellor of the Republic. As Darth Sidious, he led the military uprising of the separatist movement with the help of Darth Tyranus , a renegade Jedi and Sith student. This called the republic into question and Palpatine was granted extraordinary powers by resolution of the Senate. With these he was able to give the order to use a large clone army originally created on behalf of his student, which was the beginning of the so-called clone wars.
Sidious seduced the Jedi Anakin Skywalker to the dark side of the Force and gave him the name Darth Vader. He made him his apprentice and gave him the task of liquidating all Jedi and the leadership of the Separatists. This purge, called Order 66 , survived only a few Jedi such as Anakin's Master Obi-Wan Kenobi , Grand Master Yoda , Kanan Jarrus, and Anakin's former Padawan Ahsoka Tano . After Darth Vader had apparently successfully completed this mission, Sidious converted the Republic into the first Galactic Empire and proclaimed himself Emperor . From this point on he appeared only in his typical Sith robes and ruled as an absolutist ruler with repressive means. After the completion of the Death Star , a huge, armed space station with enormous firepower, he dissolved the Senate and deprived the planet under his authority of any decision-making power. Darth Sidious' attempt to lead Darth Vader's son, Luke Skywalker , to the dark side, failed. When he tried to kill Luke, Vader rescued his son and threw the Emperor into the reactor shaft of the second Death Star. During the fall, Sidious transferred his spirit to a clone body he had prepared on the ancient Sith world Exegol , but died for the time being. On Exegol, numerous followers of the Emperor began to set up a new fleet of Star Destroyers for their ruler, in order to one day bring a Sith Empire into being to restore Sidious and thus the entire Order of the Sith to their old strength. Sidious gave freedom to a failed clone of himself and learned some time later that it had started a family and had a daughter. Since Darth Sidious saw in his granddaughter Rey Palpatine a valuable tool for his plans, he had them looked for. Rey's parents were killed on the instructions of the emperor, but shortly afterwards he lost track because her parents had hidden his granddaughter on Jakku . Darth Sidious created the dark power user Snoke and was able to influence the seizure of power by the First Order. Using the voice of his former student Darth Vader and that of Snoke, Sidious manipulated the young Kylo Ren and eventually turned him to the dark side, as he saw in the last descendant of the Skywalker bloodline a powerful ally and heir to his new empire. Under Sidious' secret supervision, Snoke began teaching Kylo Ren the teachings of the dark side. In secret, Darth Sidious continued to pull the strings to finally get closer to his final goal. He was believed dead by the galaxy after defeating his empire.
A year after the Battle of Crait, Sidious - now again as Emperor Palpatine - sent a threatening radio message across the galaxy to lure Kylo Ren to him. Since he had previously murdered Snoke and thus passed his secret test, the Emperor finally saw in Ren a worthy ally. Palpatine finally revealed the truth to Kylo Ren and offered him a pact and promised him rule over his Sith empire if he would kill his granddaughter Rey, who had become a Jedi under the training of the Skywalker twins. This pact, however, did not work, as Kylo Ren renounced the dark side and Rey had found out the truth about her origins. With the help of the Empire veteran Enric Pryde, Palpatine finally formed the First Order and the Sith fleet into a unit and began the attack on numerous planets in the galaxy. On Exegol, his granddaughter finally went to see him, to whom the Emperor offered the throne of the Sith and asked to strike him down in an ancient ritual. During this ritual his spirit was supposed to pass into Rey so that all Sith could continue to live in her. His granddaughter refused to take part in the ritual and together with Kylo Ren she stood against the emperor. By chance, Palpatine found out that Rey and Kylo Ren formed a dyad in power through which he could come to his old strength. He overturned his original plan and by sucking the life energy out of the two Jedi, he finally regained his old form and strength. With a huge volley of lightning bolts, Emperor Palpatine was able to turn off a large part of the attacking rebel fleet, which had found their way to Exegol through Rey. In a final duel, Emperor Palpatine fought against his granddaughter Rey, who was now useless for him and his plan due to his newfound strength. In this final battle, the Emperor was finally destroyed by Rey, who had gained new strength through the spiritual help of all deceased Jedi.
Darth Sidious was portrayed by Ian McDiarmid in the original versions of all films except Episode V ; in the theatrical version of Episode V this was done by Marjorie Eaton (and in makeup tests by Elaine Baker ), Clive Revill did the dubbing. To alienate the emperor's face, chimpanzee eyes were copied over the actress' eyes. In the 2004 DVD release, these scenes were then replaced with newly filmed footage starring McDiarmid. The German dubbing was done by Friedhelm Ptok , only in Episode VI Helmut Heyne spoke the role. In Rebels he is voiced by Sam Witwer in the second season and by Ian McDiarmid in the fourth.
For his role as Sheev Palpatine / Darth Sidious , Ian McDiarmid was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2005.

Only when he brought the young Rey to his command ship Supremacy did he appear satisfied, but was betrayed and killed by his student Kylo Ren. Shortly afterwards she was thrown into a garbage compactor by these, but survived. However, she was subsequently overwhelmed by her former student in a duel and fell to her death.
Phasma was portrayed by Gwendoline Christie . Her German dubbing voice is Katrin Fröhlich .
The design of the figure with a chrome silver stormtrooper armor by costume designer Michael Kaplan was initially intended as a concept for the figure of the antagonist Kylo Ren , but was rejected again. Director JJ Abrams liked this concept so much that he really wanted to incorporate it into the film. For the name Phasma Abrams was inspired by the film series " Das Böse " by Don Coscarelli (in the original: " Phantasm") . The metal spheres found there also inspired the design of Captain Phasma's armor.

Wilhuff Tarkin
Appearances:
- Episodes: III , IV
- Anthology: Rogue One
- Series: The Clone Wars , Rebels
Wilhuff Tarkin (* 64 VSY on Eriadu; † 0 VSY on the first Death Star above Yavin IV ) was the first Grand Moff of the Empire and governor of the Outer Edge of the galaxy and thus one of its most powerful members until his death.
His career began as Captain of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, during which he served under Jedi Master Even Piell. After he was kidnapped and captured by the separatists, he was able to escape with the help of the Jedi and some clone troops. Piell died as a result of the liberation while Tarkin was promoted to admiral. He served as the prosecutor in the trial of Ahsoka Tano , whom he accused of being involved in the bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar. She was acquitted of all charges.
After Supreme Chancellor Palpatine converted the Republic into the Galactic Empire, Tarkin was named the first Grand Moff. After the completion of the Death Star, he also took sole command of the dreaded battle station, previously held by Director Krennic . Tarkin despised the aspiring Krennic and always tried to belittle him and his progress during the completion of the space station. The first target of the station was the planet Jedha , whose capital was completely destroyed with just one ignition sequence . However, Galen Erso, who worked on the completion of the Death Star under Krennic, built a flaw that should allow the rebels to destroy it. When the Rebel Alliance found out about this, a raiding party tried to steal the construction plans of the Death Star from the Imperial archive on Scarif . Tarkin, aboard the Death Star, reached orbit the planet just moments after Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor succeeded in delivering the plans. Tarkin did not hesitate long and had the Imperial archive destroyed with another single reactor ignition, which also killed Krennic, who tried to prevent the theft of the plans to the last.
Tarkin firmly believed that fear of the firepower of the new battle station would keep local systems in check. After the Princess of Alderaan, Leia Organa , was arrested and taken to the Death Star as part of the search for the plans , Tarkin ordered the bombardment of her home planet Alderaan with a full reactor detonation. It was the first complete acid test of the battle station, claiming billions of victims and destroying the entire planet. After the princess was freed by Han Solo and Luke Skywalker , Tarkin tracked the fugitive ship with a tracking device, which led him to the planet Yavin IV , on which the rebel base was located. The rebels were preparing an attack on the Death Star because the plans of the battle station had reached the rebels in time and the serious design flaw built by Galen Erso was found. When the Death Star hit the Yavin system, the rebels attacked. Tarkin believed in the superiority of his station and refused to evacuate the Death Star when the rebel attack plan was analyzed and the danger recognized. When the station was destroyed just before the planet was bombarded, Tarkin died.
Peter Cushing (1913-1994) played Tarkin in Episode IV and was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor. Wayne Pygram played Tarkin in a brief appearance in Episode III lasting only a few seconds . In Rogue One , Tarkin was played by Guy Henry and adapted to Peter Cushing's appearance and facial expressions from Episode IV using motion capture technology .

She was assigned to him during the Clone Wars (Battle of Christophsis). Through Ahsoka, the Jedi High Council hoped to curb Anakin's insolence and that he would mature in his mentoring role. After initial difficulties, she and her Master became friends. Together they fought many battles during the Clone Wars. On the planet Mortis, her son, the personification of the dark side of the force, took her life. With the help of the daughter, the personification of the light side, she was revived shortly afterwards. When an attack on the Jedi Temple on Coruscant was committed, Ahsoka came under suspicion. However, Anakin found out that the dark Jedi Barriss Offee was in charge, and thus ensured his student's rehabilitation. Ahsoka, whose belief in the Jedi was shaken, left the Order, however.
After a short time Ahsoka Tano returned to the service of the Great Army of the Republic and led a group of clone troops together with Commander Rex to Mandalore in order to overthrow the ruling shadow collective under Maul's leadership and to give Mandalore its independence back. Maul told Ahsoka on Mandalore that Anakin Skywalker would be the new student of his master Darth Sidious. After a fight against Maul, she and the clone troops managed to arrest Maul. On the way back to Coruscant , Ahsoka felt a shake in power caused by the battle in the Supreme Chancellor's office between Mace Windu, Darth Sidious and Anakin Skywalker. Shortly thereafter, Darth Sidious issued Order 66, which orders the clone troops to face their Jedi generals and commanders and to execute them because they allegedly had betrayed the Republic. Ahsoka Tano went to Rex, who had just received the order, and said that something strange was going on. As she says this, the clones present on the bridge circle around Ahsoka while Commander Rex drops his helmet, turns around and points his two blasters at Ahsoka and tearfully said "Find Fives" several times. This meant the clone soldier CT-5555 alias Fives, who discovered the inhibitor chip that the Kaminoans implanted into the clone troops in order to obey the respective orders. Ahsoka saved himself and Rex from the bridge and removed Rex's inhibitor chip and they both managed to escape from the cruiser.
14 years after the end of the Clone Wars, Ahsoka returned from exile and took part in the fight against the Empire. In the course of her rebel activities, she discovers that her old master has now become the Sith Lord Darth Vader. During a fight against him, she was locked in an ancient Sith temple on Malachor. She survived this fight thanks to the young Ezra Bridger, who saved her through the same world that gave him his lightsaber crystal from Yoda. He had watched Ahsoka's battle against Darth Vader through a portal in a Jedi temple, and just as Vader was about to strike the decisive blow, Ezra Ahsoka pulled through the portal. However, due to possible time paradoxes, she had to return to Malachor.
After the Battle of Endor, she and Sabine Wren went on a search for the missing Ezra.

However, after handing the child over to an Imperial scientist, he felt pity and rescued the child from the clutches of the Empire. Because of this betrayal, however, he was persecuted by stormtroopers and members of the guild whose code he had broken. During some of his experiences with the child, Din discovered that the child was power-sensitive when it was able to protect him in the fight against a mudhorn. After a battle against the guild members, Din went to the planet Sorgan to hide from his pursuers for some time. Din spontaneously helped his old friend Cara Dune and the residents of her home village in a battle against some Klatooinians who wanted to raid the village.
After a few more orders and events, Din and his newly formed troops, which consisted of the droid IG-11, Cara Dune and Greef Karga, with whom he had come to an agreement, fought against a Baitallion of the remaining empire. Din was nearly killed in this fight and was only able to survive with the medical help of IG-11. In battle, Din Djarin fought with the Imperial Moff Gideon and apparently was able to kill him in his TIE fighter. Din did not learn that Gideon survived the crash, however. Together with the child, he said goodbye to his troops after the battle and flew away with his ship.
Din always strictly adhered to the Mandalorian code. Therefore, he never took off his traditional Mandalorian helmet in the presence of other people or living beings. However, after he was seriously injured in the battle against Moff Gideon's troops, he had to reluctantly violate his principles for a short time in order to receive medical care from IG-11. Kyle Katarn (* 23 VSY on Sulon ) was a Jedi Master who, along with Luke Skywalker, ran the new Jedi Academy on Yavin IV. Mara Jade Skywalker
Mara Jade (* 17 VSY; † 40 NSY on Kavan ) was recruited by the emperor as a child to put her and her powers of power in his service. As a secret agent of the Emperor, she took on various missions. The last of these was to kill Luke Skywalker. The Emperor's death prevented the implementation.
She joined a gang of smugglers who captured Luke. During this time she falls in love with him. Ten years later, with Luke in hand, Thrawn battled the Chiss side by side. They married a short time later. Their marriage resulted in a son, Ben Skywalker. Years later, she was killed by her own nephew, Jacen Solo. She was his sacrifice so that he could become a Sith Lord.
Mara Jade was portrayed by Shannon McRandle for the Star Wars Card Game . In the German-language radio play series Thrawn trilogy , Mara is spoken by Marion von Stengel .
Darth Malak
Darth Malak was a Dark Lord of the Sith during the Old Sith Wars. With his master Revan he was trained on Dantooine. After the outbreak of the Mandalorian Wars, the two charismatic leaders gathered many like-minded Jedi to take action against the Mandalorians with the fleet of the Galactic Republic, initially acting against the decision of the Jedi Council not to intervene in the conflict. During the course of the war, the Jedi finally took on the name Malak, which, as a result of the events on Cathar and the authorization of the war effort by parts of the Jedi Council, as well as the name of his master, should become a symbol of their cause. Following the successful victory during the Battle of Malachor V, Revan, Alek and their fleet flew to the Unknown Regions and returned shortly afterwards as Sith Lords Darth Revan and Darth Malak, plunging the galaxy into a devastating war. Only through a trick of the Jedi could Revan be brought back to the light side and defeat his former student Malak at the star forge.
Darth Malak is spoken in both Knights of the Old Republic games in English by Rafael Ferrer , and in German by Holger Mahlich .
Darth Revan
Appearances:
- Series: The Clone Wars (Deleted Scenes)
Darth Revan was a Jedi Master who lived about 4,000 years before the film was set and in the period from the Great Sith War to the Cold War. When the Mandalorians began a war against the Galactic Republic, the Jedi Council wanted to stay out of the conflict. However, Revan opposed his order and founded the movement of the revanchists, which supported him and the armies of the republic in the war against the Mandalorians and helped to victory. Then he and his friend Malak hunted surviving Mandalorians, where they came across the planet Dromund Kaas. There they met the Sith Emperor Vitiate, who drew the two Jedi to the Dark Side. Revan accepted the Sith title Darth. With Malak he successfully looked for the star forge, with which they opposed Vitiate, however, and founded their own Sith empire. They attacked the republic nevertheless, but also planned to destroy Vitiates empire. However, Malak betrayed his master Revan, whereupon the Dark Lord was rescued by some Jedi, where he lost his memory. From then on he served as a soldier under a bogus identity for the Jedi Bastila Shan, where they got into a battle over Taris, in which the Jedi was captured on the planet. Together with the soldier Carth Onasi, Revan rescued them and brought them to Dantooine in the Jedi Academy, where the former Sith Lord was trained again in power. He then set out to find the way to the Star Forge, visiting the planets Kashyyyk, Korriban, Tatooine and Manaan. He was captured with his companions by Admiral Saul Karath on his way to the last of the four planets. After killing the Imperial, Revan was confronted with his true identity by Malak. The former Sith found the Star Forge, where he could defeat Malak and thereby end the Jedi Civil War. In the following time his memories returned in fragments, which is why he wanted to go to Dromund Kaas again. However, after his ship, the Ebon Hawk, was shot down over Nathema by Darth Nyriss and Scourge, he was captured by them. The Jedi Meetra Surik freed him and they faced the Sith Emperor together. However, Meetra was murdered by Scourge and Revan was captured by the Emperor.
His teachings, which he recorded in his holocron during his time as Sith, were found 2700 years later by the Sith Lord Darth Bane, who created his Rule of Two on their basis.
In the episode Forgotten Future of the television series The Clone Wars , an appearance was planned for Revan, in which he talks as a power spirit with the power guardian son. He and Bane should have broken away from power, which George Lucas took from the series, however, because that did not correspond to his conception of power. Since deleted scenes are not part of the Disney canon, Darth Revan is not part of the canon.
Revan is dubbed by Rino Romano in the English and German versions of Knights of the Old Republic . In the English version of The Old Republic, Revan is voiced by Jeff Bennett , in German Sascha Nathan lent him his voice.
