Jiang Wen (born January 5, 1963 in Tangshan ) is a Chinese actor and director . He gained international fame through, among other things, the film Red Cornfield by director Zhang Yimou and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story . His younger brother Jiang Wu is also an actor.

biography

Jiang ( this is the last name ) grew up in the industrial city of Tangshan in the Chinese province of Hebei as the child of Jiang Hongqi and Gao Yang. His siblings are his younger brother Jiang Wu and his sister Jiang Huan. He played mostly in Chinese films, but also took on roles in Western works. He played in Rogue One: A Star Wars story , the first Star Wars - a spin-off , the soldiers Baze Malbus.

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.

Wen was married to Sandrine Chenivisse from 1997 to 2005, and has been married to actress Yun Zhou ever since. He has two children, one of whom is from his first marriage.
