Loan Tran , known by her stage name Kelly Marie Tran (born January 17, 1989 in San Diego , California ), is an American actress of Vietnamese descent, who mainly through her role as Rose Tico from the movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi Gained notoriety.

life and career

Kelly Marie Tran comes from San Diego, California and gained her first acting experience on various theater stages in her hometown. She is a graduate of the Leslie Kahn and Co. acting class . Her parents immigrated to the States as refugees from Vietnam.

She took on her first role in front of the camera in 2011 in the short film Untouchable . This was followed by further engagements in short films, before she was seen for the first time in a larger role in 2013 with the double role Kelly / Larry in the series Ladies Like Us . Other series appearances followed with About a Boy , Adam Ruins Everything and CollegeHumor Originals .

She became known to a larger audience through the role of Rose Tico from the films Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker .
