Colin T. Trevorrow (born September 13, 1976 in San Francisco , California ) is an American film director , screenwriter and producer .
Life
Colin Trevorrow grew up in Oakland, California . He studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University . It was in New York that Derek Connolly met the later screenwriter while they were both interns at Saturday Night Live .
In 2002 he made his first short film Home Base . Since 2008 he has worked on all scripts with Derek Connolly. In 2012, the comedy Journey of Love was made, directed by Trevorrow and Connolly wrote the script.
In 2015, the Jurassic Park sequel Jurassic World was released under his direction . The duo's next project is a remake of the science fiction film The Navigator's Flight . In mid-August 2015 it was announced that he would direct Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker . However, in early September 2017, Disney and Trevorrow parted ways, after which JJ Abrams took over the management of the project. Trevorrow is still named in the credits of the finished film for his involvement in story development. In 2018 the film Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom , in which he worked as a screenwriter, was released. Jurassic World: Dominion is announced for June 2021 with him as director.
Trevorrow lives in Burlington , Vermont with his French-born wife, Isabelle, and two children .
