Keri Lynn Russell (born March 23, 1976 in Fountain Valley , California ) is an American actress and dancer . She was best known for her portrayal of the title character of the television series Felicity and for her role as Elizabeth Jennings in The Americans .

Life

Russell began her television career from 1991 to 1993 on the television show New Mickey Mouse Club , a program broadcast by the Disney Channel that is primarily aimed at children and young people. In her final year there, the later pop stars Christina Aguilera , Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were her colleagues.

Between 1993 and 1998, Russell occasionally played roles in lesser-known television series and television films. She also appeared in the Bon Jovi music video for the song Always and the sitcom series A Terribly Nice Family . Her breakthrough came in 1998 when she played the lead character Felicity Porter on the critically acclaimed Felicity series . She is a sheltered girl who grew up in high school and moved to New York to study, where she had to prove herself for the first time.

Abrams' next series, Alias, despite repeated invitations . However, she accepted a role in Abrams' film Mission: Impossible III , which was released in 2006. She also appeared more and more on television, such as guest roles in Into the West and Scrubs as well as one of the leading roles in the short-lived comedy series Running Wilde . From 2013 to 2018 she was part of the main cast of the FX drama series The Americans alongside Matthew Rhys .

Private life

On Valentine's Day 2007, Russell married her fiancé Shane Deary. Their son was born on June 9, 2007. Their daughter was born at the end of December 2011. In December 2013 it was announced that Deary and Russell had split up in the summer of 2013. She has been in a relationship with her colleague from The Americans , Matthew Rhys , since early 2014 . Their son was born in May 2016.
