Mary Elizabeth McGlynn
Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (* 16th October 1966 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American voice actor and director , actress , singer and screenwriter .
Life
McGlynn has worked as a voice actress and director in numerous anime television series and films in the English-speaking world . She also lent her voice to characters in a number of computer games. In 2007 she won the American Anime Award for Best Female Voice Actress for her role Major Motoko Kusanagi on the anime television series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex . She is known for her computer game speaking roles Caroline in Vampire: Die Maserade - Redemption (2000), Rosso the Crimson in Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII (2006), Nora in Final Fantasy XIII (2009) and SIE in Alpha Protocol (2010), as well as for its anime-speaking roles Julia in Cowboy Bebop (1998-1999), Helba and Bordeaux in .hack - franchise (2002-2007), Jaguara in Wolf's Rain (2003), Kurenai Yuhi in the Naruto franchise (2003 –2010) and Cornelia li Britannia in Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion (2008). In addition, she was the English dubbing director in several episodes of the series Cowboy Bebop (1998–1999), Naruto (2003–2007) for which she won the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation Award for best dubbing director in 2008, Naruto: Shippûden (2007–2009 ), Bleach (2009-2010), Wild Animal Baby Explorers (2010) and Blade (2011), as well as in the four Naruto films.
She sang the music of Akira Yamaoka in the computer games Silent Hill 3 (2003), Silent Hill 4: The Room (2004), Silent Hill Origins (2007) and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (2009), as well as for the films Silent Hill ( 2006) and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (2012).
McGlynn also starred in a number of films as an actress, such as Mom's Outta Sight (1998), Billy Frankenstein (1998), Help, My Dad Is Invisible (1998), The Kid with X-ray Eyes (1999), Air Rage - Terror in 30,000 Feet (2001), Quality Time (2008) and in the short film Todd of the Rings (2012). TV series she has appeared on include Back to the Past (1993), Walker, Texas Ranger (1994), Xena - The Warrior Princess (1995), Murder Is Her Hobby (1996), Renegade - Merciless Hunt (1996), Palm Beach Duo (1996), Sister, Sister (1997) and Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager (1998).
She is married to actor and voice actor Daran Norris .
