Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles ( Japanese バ イ オ ハ ザ ー ド ア ン ブ レ ラ ・ ク ロ ニ ク ル ズ , Baiohazādo Amburera Kuronikuruzu for Biohazard: Umbrella Chronicles ) was released on November 30, 2007 exclusively for Nintendo Wii in Europe. It is a so-called rail shooter that can be played either with the Wiimote or the Wii Zapper . Since the game has not been classified by the USK and Nintendo does not allow unlabeled games to be released for its system in Germany, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles was only released in other European countries (including German-speaking countries). This part is now indicated in Germany.

In addition to the familiar storyline, new content and connections have been created that can be played as bonus content for good players. Playable characters of the bonus missions are Albert Wesker, Ada Wong, HUNK and Rebecca Chambers.

Game mechanics

Aiming in the game is done with the Wiimote and optionally the Nunchuk controller or the Wii Zapper to control the crosshairs visible on the screen. In The Umbrella Chronicles , storylines from Resident Evil Zero , Resident Evil and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis are mostly taken up and re-enacted. In the last chapter you cross a new scenario, which forms a joint conclusion for all previous ones and which deals with the disclosure of the machinations of the Umbrella Corporation and its eventual demise. In this scenario, the player takes on the roles of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine , who, five years after the first T-Virus outbreak in Racoon City, enter the Umbrella headquarters in Russia along with other anti-BOW activists.
