resident Evil

In a secret underground genetic research laboratory of the Umbrella Corporation , the Hive, the deadly T-virus is released during a biochemical sabotage. All employees are eliminated by the internal central computer, Red Queen, equipped with artificial intelligence, using Halon gas - only to resurrect a little later as murderous zombies . To stop the spread of the T-Virus, a special command from the Umbrella Corporation dares to go to the laboratory with Alice, who is suffering from temporary memory loss. When the central computer is switched off, several members of the unit are killed by a laser. The rest of them flee from the zombies. To be able to start the train, however, you have to reactivate the Red Queen. When they reach the surface, they are arrested.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse

The story begins shortly after the first part. Alice was abused for a biogenetic experiment in captivity by the Umbrella Corporation and has developed supernatural powers through genetic engineering. Their senses were sharpened, their physical agility optimized. She escapes from the facility. Together with the policewoman Jill Valentine, she tries to escape from the zombie-infested Raccoon City. The endeavor turns out to be difficult, as you and four other survivors have to fight your way through the attacks of the undead and the Umbrella troops. Ultimately, they manage to defeat a giant mutant from the Nemesis project, which was bred by the Umbrella Corporation .

Resident Evil: Extinction

Raccoon City is destroyed and the T-Virus is spreading worldwide. Alice joins other survivors on their way to Alaska through the Mojave Desert . Alice has developed telekinetic skills, but finds it difficult to control them. Meanwhile, the scientists at the Umbrella Corporation, led by Dr. Alexander Isaacs is feverishly working on an antidote to the T-Virus, and Alice's gene structure is supposed to help them. They set a trap for her in Las Vegas, but Alice escapes. In the Hive, Alice fights Dr. Isaacs, who ends up being killed by one of her clones.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Alice's clones destroy the Umbrella headquarters in Tokyo. The real Alice has been robbed of her powers by Wesker and sets off for Los Angeles , where the rescue ship Arcadia is to anchor. Before that there is a siege of a prison by the zombies. Alice helps the survivors escape, and everyone gets to the ship on which Wesker is with many survivors. Wesker flees, with his plane exploding and apparently dying. The survivors are set free. But in the end, an armada of umbrella aircraft attacked.

Resident Evil: Retribution

The film starts with the attack of the Umbrella Corporation on the ship Arcadia , in which Alice is passed out after a long fight due to an explosion. She wakes up in a research complex of the group, in which various scenarios are reproduced in order to be able to sell the T-Virus to potential customers. Alice fights her way through "Tokyo" while a special rescue unit breaks into the facility. This fights through "Moscow". After the union they fight their way to the exit. On the surface, Alice has to fight Jill before everyone is helicoptered to the devastated Washington, DC .

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Alice receives an assignment from the Red Queen to look for an antidote to the T-Virus in Raccoon City in the Hive. On the way she is met by Dr. Isaacs imprisoned but escapes. In Raccoon City, Alice and other survivors, including Claire, defend against a flood of zombies that Dr. Brought Isaacs here. Then they invade the hive, where they find Wesker and Dr. Meet Isaacs. Dr. Isaacs escapes with the antidote, but is badly wounded by Alice in the Red Queen's laser tunnel. Alice brings the agent to the surface and releases it so that all zombies die for good. Contrary to the assumptions, the actually infected Alice survived the antidote.

Bernd Eichinger acquired the film rights to Resident Evil for Constantin Film in 1997 from the Japanese game developer Capcom . George A. Romero was to direct and write the script. His draft script, which oriented the plot closer to the games, was rejected. Romero claimed that only Eichinger was against his script, whereupon he separated from the project in 1999 due to "creative differences". The video game developer Yoshiki Okamoto , who was involved in the film production as executive producer , made it clear in an interview with Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine that Romero's script was simply bad and he was fired for it. The script was later published on the Internet.

Until his untimely death in early 2011, Eichinger participated in the first , third and fourth parts as a producer and in the second part as managing producer. Paul WS Anderson took over most of the direction and was also responsible for the script and as one of the producers for all parts.
