Christopher Andrew Egan (born June 29, 1984 in Sydney , New South Wales ) is an Australian actor .

Life

Egan attended drama school as a teenager , it was the same that his later series colleague Zac Drayson also attended. He tried his hand at first as a musician ; he even recorded a demo tape of Fly Me To The Moon sung by Frank Sinatra . However, he soon decided to work only as an actor.

Egan appeared in Les Miserables at Glen Street's Theater and later in the musical West Side Story . He made his film debut in 2000 as Nick Smith on the long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away . He played the role until 2003, when he met his fellow student Zac Drayson. Egan's international breakthrough came in 2005 when he played Agrippa in the Empire miniseries . In December 2006, Egan was seen as Roran in the fantasy film Eragon - The Legacy of the Dragon Riders . A year later he took a role in Resident Evil: Extinction . In 2009 he playedthe lead role of David Shepherd in the television series Kings . In 2010, he wasbest knownas Charlie Wyman in Letters to Julia, alongside Amanda Seyfried and Vanessa Redgrave .

In 2003 he moved to Los Angeles .
