Nicolai Hinrichsen Angel (born March 22, 1767 in Flensburg , † January 14, 1842 in Adelby ) was a German instrument and organ builder .

Live and act

Nicolai Hinrichsen Angel was a son of the organ builder Jürgen Hinrichsen Angel and his wife Anna Christina Hansen (1736–1784). He learned the organ-building trade from his father and then worked for two years in Copenhagen and about eleven years in London . After his father's death in early 1810, he took over his royal organ building patent and workshop. Until then he had probably worked mostly as an instrument maker and had financial problems at that time.

As an organ builder, Angel repeatedly failed to fulfill contracts and therefore had to accept dismissals. In addition, there was competition from the company Marcussen & Søn , which ensured that Angel's business was declining. In 1819 he moved from Flensburg to Tarup . In old age Angel lived as an alumnus in the Adelby parish foster home, where he died in early 1842.
