Mika Nakashima ( Japanese 中 島 美嘉 Nakashima Mika ; born February 19, 1983 in Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a Japanese singer , model and actress who first gained fame with guest appearances with Towa Tei and other well-known musicians. Their music is a mixture of modern pop and older disco music.

Their first studio album True , which was released in August 2002, reached number 1 on the Oricon charts . Within three weeks, the album recorded over 1 million units.

In 2005, Nakashima played the main role of the character of the same name in the film adaptation of Nana . After this real-life version of a manga by Ai Yazawa from 2005 was a huge success (5th place in the annual ranking), it also played the lead role in the sequel produced the following year. Furthermore, with Glamorous Sky and Hitoiro, she also contributed two very successful songs to the soundtracks of the films. Especially the single Glamorous Sky was a commercial success. This even made it to number 10 of the 100 best-selling singles of 2005.

In the film Resident Evil: Afterlife , Nakashima can be seen in a supporting role during the opening scene. She embodies a zombie who kills a civilian.
