Life

Mulcahy began his film career as a video clip director for Elton John , Duran Duran and Bonnie Tyler, among others . After his directorial debut Razorback (1984), a horror thriller about an oversized wild boar, Highlander followed in 1986 - There can only be one . This film, which was popular with audiences thanks to its unconventional editing and camera technology and Queen's music , made the director famous. After that, Mulcahy was no longer successful. Neither the sequel Highlander II - The Return (1991), nor the thriller Ricochet - The Impact (1991) with Denzel Washington and John Lithgow or the two flops Karen McCoy - The Cat (1993) with Kim Basinger and Shadow and the Curse of Khan (1994) with Alec Baldwin could approach his initial success. The following Mulcahy films were often released as video premieres, so that he turned again increasingly to the creation of music videos , including for Billy Joel and AC / DC . Since the late 1990s he has also directed episodes for television series, including The Hunger (1997–2000), Queer as Folk (2000–2001), Skin (2003) and Teen Wolf (2011–2017).
