occupation

Silent Trigger - In the Crosshairs of the Killer is an American action film with the Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren in the lead role of the professional killer Waxman.

action

Ex-Special Forces agent Waxman is hired by an unknown client - "The Supervisor" - as a sniper for assassinations. When he and his scout, the attractive Clegg, are supposed to kill a politician, he has doubts about his mission. He decides not to fire the fatal shot, especially since he has no free field of fire. Clegg then receives a radio order to eliminate Waxman immediately, because from the point of view of the supervisor, Waxman has refused an order. However, she is unable to carry out the order because both of them come under fire and have to flee. When they escape, they part ways. Despite the screwed-up assassination attempt, Waxman receives a new assignment from the supervisor: He is supposed to eliminate a new target from a high-rise building under construction. To his surprise, Clegg is again assigned as his partner. Waxman doesn't trust her, however. Both are already under observation, and when fire is opened on them, the supervisor reveals himself. Waxman and Clegg manage to win the final battle. In doing so, they kill the supervisor. Now both can get out.

criticism

"A clumsily told story in the form of a comic that celebrates violence with relish and reproduces the familiar stereotypes."

publication

In Germany, the FSK initially gave the film an age rating of 18 and over in a version that was shortened to 90 minutes . This was indexed in 1999 by the Federal Inspectorate for Media Harmful to Young People . On free TV , different, further abbreviated versions with FSK approval from 16 years and also approval from 18 years of age are shown in the night program , some of which only have a running time of just over 83 minutes.

In 2008, Concorde Filmverleih had an FSK 18 version shortened to 87 minutes re-examined, which was then given an FSK approval for ages 16 and over and was released on DVD . In April 2015, the Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People approved the application to delete the unabridged film version. The first uncut, 94-minute version was published in Germany in November 2014 on Blu-ray Disc , which was therefore still unchecked at the time, while newer editions of this have been distributed since August 2015 without youth approval.
