Argento Sōma ( jap.アルジェントソーマ) is an anime - television series in 2000, also known as manga has been implemented.
The work is about the defense of the earth against extraterrestrials by means of an artificial metallic living being. It can be classified into the genres of drama , mecha and science fiction .
action
Metal aliens are attacking humanity. In order to develop a weapon against this, Dr. Noguchi and his assistant Maki Agata animate a metallic being. To do this, they employ Takuto Kaneshiro, who was with Maki at the university and is familiar with metallurgy. But while the metallic creature that Noguchi called Frank is revived, unknown soldiers storm the laboratory, causing Frank to suddenly come to life and Maki and Dr. Noguchi die in an explosion.
Takuto, who survived, blames Frank for their deaths and seeks revenge. After his recovery as Ryu Soma, he joins the FUNERAL organization, which fights against the aliens. When she catches Frank again, he turns out to be the most powerful weapon against the attackers that needs to be protected. The only one who can speak to Frank directly is the girl Hattie, who resembles Maki.
Production and publication
The Sunrise studio produced the 25-episode series in 2000, directed by Kazuyoshi Katayama . The character design is by Shukou Murase and the artistic direction was taken over by Masaru Ohta. The series was broadcast from October 6, 2000 to March 22, 2001 by the Japanese television station TV Tokyo . In 2002 there was a 26th episode that was published in the form of an OVA .
The series has been translated into English and Dutch and broadcast in French on AB 1 and Mangas.

The music for the series was composed by Katsuhisa Hattori. The opening title Silent Wind comes from Eri Sugai, the closing song was Horizon by Sphere.
Manga
The manga was drawn by Mikami Akitsu and tells the story of the television series in very shortened form. The one-volume comic was published in German by Planet Manga in September 2003 .
