Note: The plot section applies to the anime series

As a child, Afro watched his father, Rokutaro, be killed by Justice. The fight was about Afro's father's headband, the number one headband, which is supposed to give the owner godlike powers. However, the owner of this headband can only be challenged by the owner of the number two headband, while the owner of this headband can be challenged by any opponent.

Now that Justice has become the owner of the number one headband, Afro leaves home. Afro takes his father's sword and number two's headband, which he soon loses. He finds a new home in the dōjō of a one-eyed sword master and also friends like Jinnosuke. However, Afro cannot forget the desire for revenge and continues to look for the owner of the number two headband. On the basis of stories, Afro learns of the thesis that his master is now number two. This does not let go of him, so that he speaks to his master about it when he is appointed samurai. At a nightly fateful meeting, the master reveals himself to be the owner of the number two headband. After his master has given him the choice of living in peace or in combat as the owner of the number two headband, Afro decides on the latter and kills his master. Jinnosuke, who witnessed the murder of his master, swears revenge on Afro.

A few years later, Afro is on his way to Justice to avenge his father's death, only accompanied by his alter ego Ninja Ninja . On the way there, Afro the Empty 7 , a clan consisting of seven monks, stand in the way. They want to get to headband number two in order to then get to the divine powers of band number one. However, after all attempts by the Empty 7 to take the number two headband off have failed, Afro stands where his father died. There, a fighter with a well-known teddy bear mask confronts him first, who turns out to be a Jinnosuke. Afro manages, reluctantly at first, to defeat him and now faces Justice, whom he can defeat after a hard fight.

Years later, Afro is challenged again by Jinnosuke, who survived the first fight on the mountain and is now the owner of the number two headband. The series ends when the fight begins.
