William Dwight Schultz (born November 24, 1947 in Baltimore , Maryland ) is an American actor and voice actor .

Life

Dwight Schultz became known through his appearances in numerous American television series . He had guest appearances in Hill Street Police Station , Babylon 5 , Outer Limits - The Unknown Dimension , Diagnosis: Murder and Stargate SG-1 , among others . His most famous role is that of Capt. HM "Howling Mad" Murdock in the series The A-Team . He had another recurring role in the Star Trek series Starship Enterprise - The Next Century and Star Trek: Starship Voyager as the eternally distracted and over-nervous Lieutenant Reginald Barclay .

Dwight Schultz is very often cast as a psychologically unstable personality.

He is also known to American audiences as a voice actor in numerous animated films and video games . For the conservative blog Big Hollywood by Andrew Breitbart , he wrote a few articles between 2009 and 2011 in which Schultz criticized the policies of the Barack Obama's government and what he saw as the “liberal” Hollywood establishment.

Dwight Schultz is married to former actress Wendy Fulton and has one daughter.
