killer7 is a video game released by Capcom in 2005 for the GameCube and PlayStation 2 . The game was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture under Goichi Suda .
The player takes on the role of an aging professional killer with multiple personalities . During the game you can switch between the seven personalities; every personality has special characteristics that have to be used to solve the game.
action
Harman Smith is a wheelchair-dependent old man who has a bizarre secret. Seven different personalities live through an experiment in his head, each with special tactical skills in the art of killing called the Killer7 . He can transform himself into one of the other personalities as he pleases and what is possible on a mental and physical level.
Terrorist Kun Lan is a dangerous psychopath who Harman Smith thought was dead because he appeared to have killed him 30 years ago. This is behind monsters called the Heaven Smile , which Kun Lan creates from normal people with the help of a virus. They laughingly seek out innocent people to blow themselves up nearby, human suicide bombers. These are also almost invisible and the killer7 only recognize them by their bizarre laugh. Garcian Smith , the leader of the killer7 , can use paranormal and clairvoyant skills and communicate directly with Harman. These skills make it possible for all other personalities to scan for sky smiles and take them out so quickly and effectively before they can cause cruel damage. This makes it possible for Harman to subvert the Kun Lan's terrorist activities and to kill his accomplices one by one in order to save the world from destruction and domination by an insane terrorist Kun Lan .

Special features and gameplay
- killer7 is characterized by its comic-anime style and the animations and graphic effects are kept very simple. This design decision gives the game a special look that has an active effect on the perception of the level scenarios.
- While playing, the player must be attentive and tactical and learn to use the individual personalities purposefully and effectively. An overview map of the areas with relevant information helps, and secondary characters within the scenarios offer assistance.
- Furthermore, two levels of difficulty can be selected at the start of the game, which make it possible to adapt the requirements of the game to your own skills.
- The controls are also new, since the figure is not moved using the analog stick of the controller, but by pressing a button and following predefined paths. Many paths are also divided into several directions, which can be selected via a menu in order to be able to explore new areas.
- The story that killer7 tells is revealed to the player through cut scenes and numerous in-game dialogues, but initially appears confusing and incoherent. Backgrounds and elementary components of the underlying plot only emerge during the course of the game and usually require increased attention from the player.
- The backdrop for the last level is the real, abandoned island of Gunkanjima .
Reviews and backgrounds
- killer7 received very good reviews in many places and was also praised for the courage of the developers due to its novel and innovative control system. It is therefore often viewed as a work of art rather than a video game.
- It was announced years ago as the exclusive GameCube game, but this changed over time due to the rather poor sales of the Nintendo console and was also developed for the PlayStation2, which had sold more than 100 million times.
- However, there was still criticism of the PlayStation2 version because many stutters and long loading times clouded the impression and the graphics also didn't come close to the GameCube version, while this is the better choice among many gamers with very short loading times and no stuttering.
- killer7 is on a list of the 10 most dangerous video games by the Thai Ministry of Health.
