GUN is a video game that was developed by Neversoft on behalf of Activision and was released in 2005 for all current stationary consoles and for PCs . It's a third-person shooter set in the wild west .

content

The player-controlled protagonist Colton White and his father Ned are involved in a shootout with bandits while riding a paddle steamer , in the course of which Ned is fatally wounded. Before he dies, however, he can still tell his son that he is not his biological father at all. Colton then begins research to clarify his past, but gets caught between the fronts of rival, powerful parties.

Gameplay

In addition to fulfilling the main missions, the player can pursue some other, optional, activities. So you have the chance Poker to play, gold prospecting and side missions as profile applications for employment or work as a deputy sheriff to make money.

Since GUN plays in a larger and open game world, comparable to Grand Theft Auto , the protagonist can fall back on horses in order to cover greater distances more quickly. You can also use your weapons while riding.

Another feature of the game is the so-called quick draw function. Here the character switches to a time-warped first-person perspective .

Trivia

In the English language version, several characters are spoken by well-known actors, such as: B. by Thomas Jane , Lance Henriksen , Brad Dourif , Ron Perlman , Tom Skerritt , Kris Kristofferson and Dwight Schultz .

In order to obtain the lowest possible age rating in Germany or even to avoid being indexed , the German version was cut considerably. In this way, death animations and blood were removed. Unlike in the original English version, a dying opponent cannot have his scalp cut off. The original version has been indexed.
